Six volunteers planted 11 flats of water willows in about 3 hours today. A huge shout out to a small but determined crew. Last year's plants grew until they were mowed short recently. We hope to get more support to prevent that from occurring again. I'm sure it was a misunderstanding as no one would want to take our money & efforts for granted. A great job done by the following:
Ed Buric
Eugene Collins
Kevin Dougherty
Pat Hirschtik
John Loebach
Alex Zelles
Many thanks,
John L

We will plant water willows in Batavia on July 22nd. Meet at the skate park parking lot on Rte. 25 south of Wilson street. Start time 8am
Bring waders & gloves, we have 416 plants this time. The site is the rock bar just upstream of the large island. Cross the bridge to the island & go to the north end. The gavel bar is just upstream where we planted last year. Date pending water levels but for now it looks good. It should take about 3 hours & we can find lunch afterwards. Please RSVP on the boards or email me. We work in teams if you haven’t done this its pretty easy. Ask if you have questions. This year is 20years that we have done this!

Sorry I missed it. Thanks for the notice. Craig was a quiet force whenever he showed up. Cool that he helped in so many other venues.
-
And Ed Dahmer is coming.
-
Add Craig Riendeau to the list.
-
Rich - pick a date & post it by Sunday. Terry has a Feb. blast going out on the first & it should be there.
-
I'll be there & plan to go to the all Canada show afterward at Kane county Fairgrounds.
-
I'm going. Looks like a good crowd.

Bite was a little slow. Most of my fish came off drifts tight to the bottom with a number at the end of the drift on a long pause. About average for me with the fly rod,
-
Put me down for 5,6,7.

Thanks Bart & Eugene for the pics. A huge shout out to the 9 who put 400 plants in the ground. It felt so good to do something normal & the rain delay made for a nice time to catch up.
-
Never fished a Steffan but a number of newer S glass rods do a great job. A right balance of length, action & line profile will make a rod sing. The only thing you get from fast graphite is 6" loops & long casts not that either of those are bad.

Picking up the plants tomorrow. 5 responses so far, this will be easy if a few more come. Stop by to visit if you have time.
