all crankbaits rattle to some extent, there are no truly silent cranks. it is just a matter of degree.
I fish rattlebaits year round in every current/clarity/temp condition and catch smallmouth.
-
On the topic of crankbaits, in my experience 'eyes will hit a multitude of cranks when they are in the mood. However, if I had to pick one crankbait that has produced more walleyes, and not to mention the largest number of good-sized 'eyes for me, it would be the Rapala Tail Dancer.
ssshhh

surprised that bunch in the first photo didn't follow you, that is unless of course Bill was there. Naturally they would follow him instead.

water willow pattern not as effective with the dropping water levels. wading is limited, especially if you aren't familiar with the river. there are a whole lot of places it hasn't been and still isn't safe to get to.
NIAA K3 derby starts Friday, most likely lots of derby fishermen out unless the weather turns to crap.
if you do go best bets fishing cranks, ratllebaits or jigs on seams or hitting the deeper edges/still submerged parts of the water willows.some creek mouths producing , others aren't, same with point pools.
Momence gauge dropping, chebanse gauge looks like it crested but calling for more rain mid week.
above the Iroquois make be better but a lot of the pull offs on the side roads have been posted since last fall.

not looking good right now to get a vacation day with that being a holiday weekend. if that changes, I'll let you know.
Go to my report on the water willow pattern if you think re establishing water willow beds is not worth the time or effort involved.

get some jointed shad raps. rattlebaits also work well on walleyes.
is there any standing timber in the pit ? if so try working a spinnerbait thru them. walleye like spinnerbaits too.

The 1/8 oz have worked for me on some of the creeks I fish with the curly tail Charlie Brewer worms and the junior flukes.

I sent 6 groupies , they wired back, he's having a fine time.

have not been impressed at all in lure, yet. who knows maybe it will be a knockout in warmer, lower water conditions.

I can be available to plant signs! I noticed the sign at the Kank hunting area 7 is looking shabby...
At least it's still there, usually it disappears, shot up or burnt at that location.
-
Dale took it and it was at the radio station, not on the water. Allowable

I've never seen Duck Dynasty, Someone said I reminded them of Uncle Si. I've heard he's a bit looney, not sure if the comparison was a good thing or not.
