  1. My go to smallie flies are the Clouser and my Bug. How soon are you going? I love tying clousers, so I could whip up a bunch plus some Jude Bugs and send them to you. For payment, you can buy me breakfast next time we fish together.
  2. I plan on meeting the guys for breakfast at CV, then heading down to help out with the planting. Definitely fishing after that, but I'll play it by ear as to where.

    Eagle Cam

The eagle cam at www.norfolkbotanicalgarden.org is excellent. Most other eagle cams I've seen take a shot every 20 or thirty seconds. This one shoots about every second, so it's practically live video! There are three chicks, about a week old. Feeding time is awesome.
  4. I saw it at the Fly Show too. You can tell the designer had fishing in mind . Lots of well thought out features.
  5. I vote that Tim just starts speakin' American instead of European so we don't have to convert. I hate math.
  6. For some reason it irks me to have to register a human powered fifty pound piece of plastic. But I do....
  7. First you steal my crown and now you slander me on the web. Why I oughta...
  8. Looks good! I am assuming that would be a male mushmouth?
  9. Congratulations, Dick. Welcome to the dark side. There's no turning back.
  10. I am going to use the fly rod a LOT more this year. I got a lot more confident towards the end of last year, so this year I'm going to kick it up a notch.
  11. Yeah, the Native Ultimate looks very interesting. You should definietly buy one! (so I can try it out ). That and the Manta both piqued my interest recently. One nice feature of the Ultimate is that you can stand in it. At least that's what they say. It's been three years since my last yak. I'd say I'm due for a new toy!
  12. Hey Rick...is 12' the smallest Manta Ray they make? I don't really need much storage or "speed", so I want as light as possible.
  13. I fish out of sit in , but my next yak will definitely be a sit on top. Probably a Liquid Logic Manta Ray or a Tarpon. Now that I'm getting more serious about fly fishing, I see myself using a yak to get from spot to spot and getting in and out a lot. I think a SOT would be ideal. My kayak was the best fishing investment I've ever made. Buy one...you won't regret it!

    c b lures

Yeah...right Eric...like we believe you're gonna tie on something other than your albino spinnerbait.
  15. I'll be there Saturday by 2:00.
  16. Friday won't work for me, but I can make one of the other days. Which day are you most understaffed?

    THANK YOU

I really enjoyed the Blowout. The best part was actually meeting a bunch of cyber-aquaintences from here. Now I have faces to put with the names! The drive home was not fun. At one point, the car in front of me spun sideways after hitting a pile of snow. Luckily, there was no one next to me and I eased over to just miss the guy. Tim: did you make it home in one piece? Thanks to all you guys who worked so hard to put it together. Very well organized event! Eric: thanks for the beer. You have to watch "The Big Lebowski" if you really want to appreciate "...the dude abides..."
  18. Wow. Very nice piece of furniture. Sorry guys, but that baby's got my name written all over it!
  19. Cool pic. The response from the photographer was very enlightening. Do the crayfish within a certain area all molt at the same general time, or is it staggered. I guess I'm wondering if it's like a mayfly hatch. If so, it would be wise to turn over a few rocks upon arriving at your river. Catch a crayfish. If it's soft, the hatch is on!

    Great news!

The Bug really went over great. Showed and gave it to a lot of people and got excellent responses. Holschlag said they sold very well and he'll probably want more for his next show. Skip Morris really liked it, as did Dennis Potter, who was VERY encouraging.
  21. I really enjoyed working at the booth. Actually putting some faces with the names I see on here all the time was nice, too. I agree with Rich: that living insect display was really cool. All those bugs you read about all the time but never really see.
  22. Hey John, I guess it would have been too easy for me to give you mine at the show yesterday. Doh! Sorry about that. I'll bring six Jude Bugs and six realistic spiders. The spiders aren't really fishable and are in their own cases, so I don't know how you'll want to handle that. I'll bring them to you as soon as I get to the Blowout.....Jude
  23. I'd have to say I'm kinda excited about it! I'll be there Friday afternoon to drop some bugs off, then help out at our ISA booth. Please, I beg of you, stop by Tim Holschlag's booth and ooh and ahh over the Jude Bug. Maybe even buy one or two. I'm sending out a dozen freebies to RiverSmallies guys tomorrow, but so far only one ISA guy (from Indiana, no less), has taken me up on the offer! It still stands, so PM me your address if you want one. Have fun at the show, guys....Jude
