Thanks Terry for the outing, was nice to see everyone again and meet some new guys as well. Connor, we'll have to hook up. Great spots near a certain farm you spend time at ;-)
I've been using an Orange-n-Black "Bitch Creek" fly all summer in the Kish, it's a great fly. Read about them in American Angler and can be found on Ebay.
What size fly? Bead-head or non bead-head? I'd like to give that a try.

Thanks for the report Eric. Seems your luck got better later in the day the same as mine. You wouldn't think it would work that way with
a wide open clear blue sky and high temps. What was your hot bait?
Walleye and one smallie on a twister, the rest on mini-senko. Nothing on Hula or tube.

I went with Paul Sr, he caught quite a few in the morning while I got 2 smallies and one walleye. Then Paul left and I went back to the river after a quick lunch and got 8 more smallies. One was good sized, 14 inch. Didn't take any pictures.
thanks Paul!

Question: for Yamamoto Hula grubs, what sizes do most people use for Illinois smallmouth? I have tried 5' with good results, I have some 4" and plan to try them also.

Thanks to Eugene for a great outing. Learned alot about river fishing and caught five smallies including a beautiful 17!
Hula grub on the bottom got all the action for me.

I'm hoping to make it, are we supposed to meet at any specific place?

Whatever is appropriate for conditions is fine with me.
As a newbie to the ISA and a newbie to smb fishing I am happy to go along and learn from the experienced folks regardless.

Any word yet on whether this trip will happen this saturday? Is this supposed to be a float trip or wade/ shore trip?

I agree, and thanks for helping this new guy get a fish.

We usually figure it out at breakfast. The put-in is just a couple blocks from the cafe.
The take-out isn't really all that far by road from the put-in.
We may have a person to help shuttle if needed.
Sounds good.

Cool, I like the wet kind of water much better than the dry kind. ericg has taken my open seat, it will be nice to have another person in the boat. Looking forward to meeting everyone. What is the name of this fine dining establishment so I can put it in the GPS.
Thanks for all the info
Jon
I'm in! Thanks Jon.

New member here, I would love to go along if I can hitch a ride in that canoe mentioned above. I am recovering from shoulder surgery 10 wks ago and the Physical Therapist says I can't paddle my new Coosa that far yet by myself. I do have quite abit of canoe experience and can paddle just not the whole way. Let me know if there is room for me.
