  1. I told Don Rego to cut and paste my flyer for the Fox River Fishin Musician Guide Service out of Batavia Bait and Tackle. With all th construction and flooding last year the shop has had a rough time of making it go and they are considering closing the doors. Batavia Bait have been in business for 5 years now but aren't too sure if they will be open much longer. When I was an officer they donated some great items to the BLOWOUTS.. rod and reel combos, case plastic boards etc.. Karen Jason and Tim are just GREAT people and I hope they can continue this wonderful little shop on the bank of the Fox river. My service is geared to someone who wants to learn the Fox BUT may be a bit uncomfortable wading , as of yet I haven't lost or drowned a single client Even with the up and down weather I had a great year down on the Fox , and spend many hours on the river to get a real feel on what is happening on the River. See ya at the Blowout... Kevin Summers
  2. I attended the outing on the Fox river held at Oswego. Though I arrived late, I was able to meet a couple of members who elected to fish downstream from the group. Good conversation and all around fishing fun was the order for the day. IT was exactly the reason I joined the Isa and served on the board for a short time. What a wonderful way to spend a day ,good company, fish and the Fox river . I would also like to personally Thank Don Rego for the great job he is doing as Chicago land Region coordinator. Keep up the Good work Don, and Merry Christmas to all Fellow Isa members!!!
  3. BE sure to wear your swimming trunks in that fast moving water Dick. You hook a 20 incherand my bet is your up to your eyeballs with kicks and giggles Take care Kevin
  4. Went to the Arlington show today with my Jim Grandt rod that I broke while fighting a world class Fox River carp!! Went to the Grandt booth and was well treated, They replaced my rod with out hesitation and scripted the Fishin Musician handle with a smile. A class operation with a great selection of fishing rods. I loved the way they stood behind their product, just as they advertised!!!! 8) Kevin Summers aka The Fishin Musician

  7. Went to the Hunting and Fishing days website , and did'nt notice ANY mention of the ISA participating ANYWHERE. I find this a little odd!!! I know I'm a bit on the sensitive side but if we are running the kids casting pond , does'nt that give us a plug for the Alliance, SOMEWHERE? If I missed something on their site, Please let me know but Typing our name as a friend or sponser on the site doesn't seem to be asking for much . Kevin

  10. Jim B, I agree, the sad part is I find myself being less social the more time I'm out there picking up and seeing the lack of respect for the river. I'll have to work on that.... Maybe I'm not So even Keel as I think Thanks Jim for Doing your part.....Kevin
  11. [i won't be able to attend, I'm leaving my job for something else and need to finish out my notice in full. Kevin
  12. Gooch, good point , BUT I don't think Montgomery is alone with the littering issue. Keep picking up the trash, I do it EVERYTIME I'm out at Batavia but it never seems to make much of a dent. I know there is a clean-up coming out that the Friends of the Fox is sponsering, I'll post the dates for anyone who may be interested in helping out. I'm afraid that people are just getting lazy with there trash and leaving it when there done... Tampons, syringes, thats scary but it may be coming downstream to you, nothing would surprise me ...ANYMORE
  13. Jeff, I have a son who is 10 and was going to get him started wading next season, he is a size 5 shoe now so next year the 7's would work. 20. Moving down river from Batavia bait and tackle and mmeting at Glenwwod Forest preserve Thursday May 4th. This is right behind Funway amusement Park, on Rt. 25 between Wilson ave and Butterfield road(RT. 56) Since the dam has been removed this place has changed considerably, and I'm looking forward to seeing how we do on thjis ever changing water. See ya there , there is a parking lot just past Funwayif you cross the rr track heading North you've missed the turn. Kevin Summers
  21. Went to earth day in Batavia, and had the pleasure of talking to Jessi Martinez. Told her I was up for some stream monitoring and talked about the Fox River. Clean up scheduled for May 20, I see a busy season for me!!! I know dam removal is good for the river BUT.... All the silt and island erosion has knocked the Hell out of some PRIME spawning areas behind Funway. What once were run riffle holes have become shoals and bars a complete change from what used to be. Everything changes so time will tell.,
