John Loebach Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 The 2011 Fox water willow planting is rescheduled for Saturday 8/13/11 starting at 8am at Glenwood Forest Preserve by the old lower Batavia dam. Continued rain & high water should improve in a few weeks. With help from Friends of the Fox, DRiFT, & other volunteers we will plant about 1000 water willows on shoreline & midriver bars from Clarke island down to Les Arendts Forest Preserve. With a good complement of help we should be done by noon & the ISA will provide lunch. Definate potential to fish afterwards so make time & bring your gear. A number of our members know this stretch well & this is a great opportunity to help the river & benefit from that experience. Once again the wet weather rears its head. Third times a charm We will get this done! Quote
coryg Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Thanks for staying on top on this, John. I've changed the date on my calendar. See you there. CoryG Quote
John Loebach Posted July 8, 2011 Author Report Posted July 8, 2011 Bump up, just a reminder it is NOT this Saturday. Quote
John Loebach Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 Hope all have noted this change. A couple weeks should let the water come down. Quote
eugene f collins Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 I plan on fishing after we are done planting? Anyone else? Quote
John Loebach Posted August 10, 2011 Author Report Posted August 10, 2011 At the moment it looks like we will plant - lets hope for no more rain & lower water levels. Temperatures look great. I'll post again by Thursday pm. Quote
John Loebach Posted August 11, 2011 Author Report Posted August 11, 2011 Confirmed 8AM Saturday at Glenwood F.P. on Rte. 25 just south of Batavia. I have arranged for an upgrade for lunch - Ham or Turkey subs by O'Brien's Pub in downtown Batavia. Water levels good, temp's mild, be there or be square! Bring fishing gear, Eugene, Tim & I plan to fish after. Quote
