Terry Dodge Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 At the Blowout this year it was mentioned by (I'm not sure) Don LaBrose about doing some shocking on some area rivers, the Kish being one of them. Would anybody happen to know how I can find out when this is scheduled to happen? Quote
Jonn Graham Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Call the regional DNR office in Sterling, IL. They are coordinating the whole thing. I plan to attend as well. Quote
JimR Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Post on here if you could, I would love to help with that. Quote
Paul Trybul Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I sent an email to Karen and we'll see what comes back. They usually start the smaller streams in June/July time frame. It is really a fun and rewarding experience of you have never done it before. Karen can teach you most of the little baitfish that are native to the area streams. Its very good information for those who like to match the hatch. Quote
Gary L Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 May I suggest taking pictures of those baitfish for future reference when thinking of tying up a new fly. Quote
Paul Trybul Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Karen emailed me back and they do not have a schedule made up at this time. They are looking at shocking the Ksihwaukee River basin around the middle/late July. They are looking at shocking some central IL streams the first few weeks in August. I'll keep you posted as I gather more information. Quote
Terry Dodge Posted May 27, 2011 Author Report Posted May 27, 2011 Paul - Any kind of a schedule set up yet? Just wondering. Quote
