Check it out here: www.flyfishohio.com Jonn The fly certainly attracts fish. The only problem I've had is getting short stikes just like you experienced on our Kank outting. It may just be an aberration. If not a small stinger hook may be necessary in that long tail. Jim J Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 That is a great article and pics etc. Quote
Paul Trybul Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Jim, you sound impressed. Are you thinking about taking up flyfishing? Quote
Mike G Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 Nice writeup, Jonn. You are on your way to Rainey's. This fly and the one you had in the bulletin are on Tiemco hooks. Don't these use an unusual size numbering? For example, I have heard that a size 6 in this Tiemco model is close to a 1 or 1/0 in Mustad language. Quote
Jonn Graham Posted October 21, 2010 Author Report Posted October 21, 2010 The Hook is a Tiemco 8089. And, yes, the sizing is crazy. #6 and #10 are what you want. They run LARGE!! A #2 is massive...........like saltwater/muskie size Quote
Guest rich mc Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 the tiemco 8089 size 6 is about equal to most brands size2 rich Quote
