Jonn Graham
I found this smallie pic while browsing the net. Says it was caught in Northern IL. Gary L
That is just a typical DuPage River Smallie Jonn. That is a little small but very typical of what I used to catch up there.
Paul Trybul
Jonn, I can only of think of 2 places that could produce a smallie of that shape and size in Northern IL. Lake Michigan or Lake Victoria in South Beloit. I wouldn't rule out a private lake or quarry either like a Max Mcgraw. It doesn't look like a river fish from Illinois. Gary L
I would bet it is a Lake Michigan Smallie. They have some monsters swimming freely about the Chicago Lake Front. I thought you would get a kick out of that Don.
ronk
I agree with Gary.A stream smallie would be more streamlined.Just like Lake Michigan brown trout I've seen that pot belly probably full of gobies indicates it came from there. jamie
Don't know where it came from. But I can tell you that it went into a freezer. Bummer.
scotth
i would have to agree with the "lake fish" answers. river/stream smallies (i don't think/or never seen) would get that fat.
