  2. I believe Norm may have to disagree that fishing is over
  3. closed for boating..haven't been able to tag fish for the derby either
  4. anything under 12# usually causes problems..i use 12# trilene xt, 15# big game, 30# power pro, and 50# power pro for the heavy stuff..just started trying Seaguar Red Label Fluorocarbon in 12#, not sure if the fluoro makes a difference yet but have had no issues with it.
  5. i've seen your baits, and it does look like your going for pike, lol
  6. i've fished this creek for years and i don't think i have to worry about Wilbur, lol..unfortunately i can't reach it from shore until the water drops or i would investigate..it is definitely tied off on 2 felled trees across the creek mouth and hindering my hot spot location,
  7. can anyone tell me if trot lines are legal in central illinois river systems? can't find a clear cut answer..i found one going across a creek mouth recently and there is no tag on it..can i cut it down ?
  8. Time on the Water repeats a lot, i'm sure you'll catch it sometime...seen a lot of familiar areas, nicely done..have seen a drift boat from time to time, wonder if its the same one?

  10. Boating FAQs Update: July 26, 2013 The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has reviewed the inclusion of inner tubes among non-powered watercraft required to display the Water Usage Stamp, and has decided to eliminate the requirement that Water Usage Stamps be purchased for inner tubes. Refunds may be requested by submitting the following to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Attn: Licensing, One Natural Resources Way, Springfield, IL 62702-1271: 1) A letter requesting a refund for a Water Usage Stamp purchased for an inner tube; 2) The Water Usage Stamp that was purchased; 3) The receipt of purchase (license square) that was attached to the Water Usage Stamp; 4) Contact telephone number; 5) IDNR Customer ID number; 6) IDNR Transaction number from the Water Usage Stamp The IDNR hopes to provide requested refunds within 120 days of receipt of the letter including the above information. This change involving inner tubes does not affect the Water Usage Stamp requirement for all other non-powered watercraft – it only exempts inner tubes from requirements of displaying a Water Usage Stamp. The IDNR’s interpretation of a float tube is “any inflatable device that was previously required to be registered and titled, including but not limited to inflatable boats and belly boats.”
  11. if i was from that area ? yes..or if i was to travel up that way, wouldn't be too hard
  12. if we are going to stop naming specific areas, how about not posting pics any more..they sure tell more about where the fisherman is than any written post..just saying
  13. whether we post specific locations or not, people are going to find the good spots, after all, we found them..but, if it is in the policy, i suppose we need to heed to the specifics. after all, it is just fishing......right ?
  14. any little thing to help Illinois get more money out of us...this is so stupid..putting a sticker on an inner tube, come on man..really?
