  1. One of the few summer weekends that I'm in town and free to help. Also looking forward to breakfast at River View at 6:30am
  2. Question, how do you view the pictures when they are posted using so many pixels? When I click on the picture I can only see about a third of the picture.I'm able to scroll down but not side to side.On most sites posted pictures have to be reduced to 640X480 With a picture of this size I can view it with a simple click
  3. I wish I had read this post last night,I would have come down to say thank you. Thanks to guys like this we have a fantastic fishery and cleaner river.Enjoy your retirement to the fullest, you deserve it.
  4. Congratulations again on the big fish Jason. We all know pictures can be decieving, but if someone tells me he caught a big fish I won't publicly call him out on it. Here's a picture of a few fish I put together, can anyone guess which one weighs the most? You don't have to reply-but I'll bet most of you will pick the wrong one.
  5. While I was landing my 19 inch smallie on the Kankakee Tuesday my phone rang. After a photo shoot with my big smallie I checked my voice mail to find out my good friend Jason N. had just landed a 6lb.2 ounce smallie from Lake Michigan.I am sure the pictures will be out soon.I have the pictures and it is an absolute pig with beautiful colors.Released as it should be to grow to record proportions.Way to go Jason!
  6. Mike, I need a time and place to meet.I assume we will be going through the back door by the tennis court.
  7. Mike,I can help with set up on Saturday,I live right down the street from the school. I could also stick around for the first 2 hours but I have commitments for the rest of the day. Bill Chase
  8. Special fish of 2006. Many thoughts come to mind-my 4 year old grandsons first 16 inch bass,my first 20 inch smallie of 2006. But at the top of the list would be when I took my brother to the Dupage, gave him my favorite bait and put him in a spot that holds some nice smallies. He was visiting from his home state of Colorado and needed to get out and fish.Being an experienced river fisherman I left him figure out the rest.Fifteen minutes later he was into fish.First a 15 in.smallie followed by a 17 incher. We fished about 4 hours landing many fish and he never had to change his bait once,Yum Woolyhawgtail. I wish the picture had come out better but I was about 25 yards away using a zoom.
  9. Here's a few of my favorites caught from the Kankakee this year. Hulabug-spinnerbait-Gulp sinking minnow-Crawbug,pretty much all I used this year. Although I didn't have many days that I caught great numbers of smallies the overall size was better than past years. According to my log 40 bass of 16 inches or more.
  10. No question about it,for me the number one plastic for smallmouths in rivers is the YUM crawbug. Hooked on a Gamakatsu slider jig this set up has accounted for more big smallies than any other plastic.Everything else is fighting for second place.
