  3. Glad to see you guys made it back alive! No one was posting and I was worried you guys had nothing good to report. Good to see that was not the case. I sure hope those fish recover so us guys coming up next week have a shot at them. Apparently, the water deep enough for your boat. Any issues?
  4. According to to one of the guys (Ned) who developed the technique, dragging them on the bottom where they can get snagged is not always the best method to fish them. Very light jigs and the very buoyant Elaztech plastic produces a very slow fall, making them almost neutrally buoyant. He likes to swim them through the water instead of hopping or dragging them. When I’m in water where snagging can be an issue, I try and keep them off the bottom. Ned rigs are such a versatile bait , they will catch fish no matter how you retrieve them. I like the weedless ‘shroomz to toss around downed trees. They only used to come in a 1/10 of an ounce size which for me is heavier than I like for other presentations, but they will come through branches pretty well.
  5. We've had some people who've had to drop out of the trip. Check the calendar in the first post on this thread, we now have 3 open spots. We can't refund any payments unless we can fill the vacancies. Let me know if you'd like to join us so we can get some money back to those who can't make it.
  6. There may be some openings during the second half of the first week (Tuesday through Saturday) I should know for sure soon.

  10. I don’t know for sure. I was told by someone else that Jim Clark was dropping out but he hasn’t contacted me.
  11. We all did. A lot of the floating algae seemed to have gotten caught in the area of the quarry and the stretch from there to the take out had much much less. Lots of better fish in that area with a good mix of grass and a little depth.
  12. 6 ISA members showed up, everybody caught fish. I don’t have an official count but 10-20 each I think is close. Bart had a 19 and Sean Leheney had an 18. Floating algae was annoying so topwaters were used. I got most of my fish on a weightless Senko. Pictures will be in the E newsletter coming out in a few days.
  13. Lots of algae on the bottom in that area. Any baits that bump the bottom will come up with a mess but not much except a few strands of grass are floating so it should be easily fishable especially with top waters
  14. I wouldn't miss it. I hope everyone can make it.

With enough help, we should be done in just a few hours. If you can help, post here and let us know.
  17. Sorry for the last minute notice, but with the unpredictability of water levels and weather, conditions are now right to get some water willows planted this weekend. 18. If we don’t get all the rain predicted for Thursday night through Friday evening, I’ll be there.
  19. Due to a cancelation we have an opening for a 4 day, 3 night stay, for August 21-25. For more details see the Road Trip post;
  20. After you buy the knock off blank lure, split rings, hooks, jig skins, shipping and your time to put them all together, are you really saving much money? Those jig skins are pretty interesting. I've never been too keen on photo realistic paint jobs, but I know a lot of guys are. How durable are they? Do they go on the baits easily? The baits that work very well for me seem to do as well or better ter when most of the paint has been knocked off, but if I was to come across lures that were cheap enough and I really hated the colors, I can see trying them.
  21. I have changed the permissions so everyone should be able to view all the events on the calendar. Sorry for the inconvenience!
  22. That's weird. I see two events. Rich McElligott at DuPage Fly Shop on the 19th, and The Kish outing on Saturday.
