  1. I got one for Christmas from Cabelas, think it was around $30. I have only used it twice and i like it a lot. I noticed it did best for me when I was exiting and entering the water from a steep bank. It collapses and thats a problem when u get it stuck in the mud and go to pull it out and it comes unattached. It can also be used as a weapon if you come across a snake or spider (hate them both).

  2. Id have to go with a weightless wacky rigged 5 inch Stik-O in Mardi Gras color with a red Gamakatsu hook. Im partial to it because it caught me a 6 lb largemouth at the end of the season last year. BTW, i throw this using a 6 1/2 foot ultra light rod, ultra light reel, and 4lb mono and have never lost a fish. Second would be a Zoom tube, with a brown body and chart. tail.

  3. I recently bought 2 swim jigs from Brovarney. My spinnerbait heads and football head jigs take a beating from rocks. I really wouldnt care if i stricly fish the river. But im a member at private lakes that are super clear, im talking visibility up to 15 feet. I plan on using these swim jigs at both places and really dont want my swim jig heads to be all chipped. If i took some clear fly head cement and put it on the heads would that toughen it up? Or is this process pointless? <_<

    Thanks.

  4. Youe doing better then me. I started tying about 6 months ago and i mastered the woolly bugger in a few tries. Then i moved on to the Clouser, have tied every color imaginable. I got books telling me how to tie different flies but im not to good at it. A lot of the flies in the books include spinning deer hair which is way over my head. But it gives me something to do during the winter.

  5. As i was wading in the stream today i got to thinking about all the wierd things iv caught or snagged while fishing. I figure with all the river and stream fishermen on here there has to be some wierd and strange objects caught. The strangest living thing i ever caught was an albino catfish, and the wierdest non living thing is a little kids bike.

  6. For the guys who fish chubs. I was wondering how you rig them and your setup. My local stream (little vermillion) is full of chubs and can be caught on every cast with just a crawler. Iv never used them for smallmouth, but im gonna try soon. Iv fished with big suckers up north for Muskie but thats on a different level. Any info to lead me in the right direction would be nice. thanks.

  7. My most successful live bait is a live crawdad. We just carry little minnow nets and lift up rocks in ankle deep water, you can catch as many as you want, theyre everywhere. And stick them in a water bottle till we use them. I use a 7 foot rod and an ultra light reel with 6 lb braid and just hook the craw on a hook with no weight, toss it out. Most the time they hit it on the fall but occasianally il let it sink to the bottom.

  8. I just recently purchased a ProLite baitcaster and a 7 ft ProLite finesse rod rigged with 6 lb test Fireline and i have to say i am in love. I have a Rick Clunn baitcaster and Id take the ProLite over it anyday. I like being able to throw really light baits without any problems and the ProLite allows me to do that. I wasnt really a fan of baitcasters till i started using this. The reel is $99 and so is the rod, i got them on sale for a combined $140.
