Went to the Arlington show today with my Jim Grandt rod that I broke while fighting a world class Fox River carp!! Went to the Grandt booth and was well treated, They replaced my rod with out hesitation and scripted the Fishin Musician handle with a smile. A class operation with a great selection of fishing rods. I loved the way they stood behind their product, just as they advertised!!!! 8) Kevin Summers aka The Fishin Musician

Went to the Hunting and Fishing days website , and did'nt notice ANY mention of the ISA participating ANYWHERE. I find this a little odd!!! I know I'm a bit on the sensitive side but if we are running the kids casting pond , does'nt that give us a plug for the Alliance, SOMEWHERE? If I missed something on their site, Please let me know but Typing our name as a friend or sponser on the site doesn't seem to be asking for much . Kevin

Jim B, I agree, the sad part is I find myself being less social the more time I'm out there picking up and seeing the lack of respect for the river. I'll have to work on that.... Maybe I'm not So even Keel as I think Thanks Jim for Doing your part.....Kevin

Gooch, good point , BUT I don't think Montgomery is alone with the littering issue. Keep picking up the trash, I do it EVERYTIME I'm out at Batavia but it never seems to make much of a dent. I know there is a clean-up coming out that the Friends of the Fox is sponsering, I'll post the dates for anyone who may be interested in helping out. I'm afraid that people are just getting lazy with there trash and leaving it when there done... Tampons, syringes, thats scary but it may be coming downstream to you, nothing would surprise me ...ANYMORE

Jeff, I have a son who is 10 and was going to get him started wading next season, he is a size 5 shoe now so next year the 7's would work. I could pick them up from you, would be willing to drive from Batavia, I need to visit a friend in Rockford someday so It would be No problem. Let me know if this works for you. Kevin

THe Friends of Fox are having clean-ups up and down the Fox on Saturday May 20. They are meeting ALL - OVER the Fox river removing debris, garbage and such. I'll be down at Clark Island in Batavia helping out that local group. If you are so inclined, and your not helping JOZ.. storm stenciling, there is always need of your help. I believe starting time is 8;00 am But check their website at Friends of the Fox. Kevin

Went to earth day in Batavia, and had the pleasure of talking to Jessi Martinez. Told her I was up for some stream monitoring and talked about the Fox River. Clean up scheduled for May 20, I see a busy season for me!!! I know dam removal is good for the river BUT.... All the silt and island erosion has knocked the Hell out of some PRIME spawning areas behind Funway. What once were run riffle holes have become shoals and bars a complete change from what used to be. Everything changes so time will tell.,

I attended the outing on the Fox river held at Oswego. Though I arrived late, I was able to meet a couple of members who elected to fish downstream from the group. Good conversation and all around fishing fun was the order for the day. IT was exactly the reason I joined the Isa and served on the board for a short time. What a wonderful way to spend a day ,good company, fish and the Fox river . I would also like to personally Thank Don Rego for the great job he is doing as Chicago land Region coordinator. Keep up the Good work Don, and Merry Christmas to all Fellow Isa members!!!
