Mike G
Great looking material. Music wise, I liked the acoustic sounds of Drift and Rise. Connect gave me a headache. I was wondering if that's what Ringo has been doing lately. On the other hand, these reinforce the idea that flyfishing involves travel to exotic places which aint necessarily so. When will we see a feature on the Fox, Dup, Kankakee, Rock, and Kish? Or on other Rivers of Illinois or Wisconsin or Indiana?
Tom L
Mike, I agreed on both the musics and stories. I watch the films last night. I got thru only half of the films and had to turned it off. This new film CONNECT is not as good as their first 2 films, DRIFT AND RISE. It is too commercialized, while DRIFT AND RISE are more spiritual and captivated (at least to me anyway). It is true that the spirit of fly fishing or any fishing in general doesn't have to involve traveling to exotic places. I love walking and fishing our local streams and lakes. But these films provided me some small peeking windows into other worlds and other species of fly fishing in a much inexpensive way. And they also make good winter companions, beside reading and tying flies. There is a new film just came out in October called "Off The Grid" by Beattie Out Door Productions. It features some Midwest fisheries in Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio. Here are some of clips. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLTx0Dzjqvw Maybe Eric and help put something together to feature our beloved local fisheries. Mike G
Mike, Those are on target, too. Just a thought since the show season is coming. Did anyone ever use these at our booth at outdoor shows? A lot of exhibitors run things on laptops to promote their stuff. Any way these can be put on a CD along with some back issues of the bulletin as part of the new member package?
Tom L
These are beautiful. Thanks Mike.
Mike Clifford
As a matter of fact I have run all of our many versions on a laptop at shows as well as the Blowout. Those above were 4 years ago...they get better! LOL
