ronk Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 Looking at some Chota wading boots with felt soles/optional studs, anyone have any experience with them? As always, thanks for your input. Spend your $ elsewhere.I owned a pair of their premium boots. After only a few uses the sole separated from the shoe altogether. This has happened to others as well from what I understand. Also the screw type studs barely cleared the felt bottoms and so provided little xtra traction. Rob G Posted September 11, 2011 Author Report Posted September 11, 2011 Ron, was your experience a somewhat recent one and do you remember the model of the boot? Quote
ronk Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Ron, was your experience a somewhat recent one and do you remember the model of the boot? 2yrs ago.It was their top of the line boot with the removable studs & the clever lacing system. Quote
Gavin Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Missouri will be banning felt soled wading boots effective March 1st, 2012 if that weighs into your purchase decision...Think I'll be going with Simms Vibram & Studs next season. Cheers. Quote
Rob G Posted September 13, 2011 Author Report Posted September 13, 2011 Quick tidbit from Simms saying that they're going to continue producing felt soles Hooray! http://flyfishing.about.com/b/2011/07/02/simms-going-back-to-felt-soled-wading-boots.htm Quote
