Chicago Region Meeting this Saturday!

Meet at Bass Pro in Bolingbrook 6 PM. Speaker will be Bob Long Jr. for this meeting. Bob will talk about spin fishing for smallmouth bass. Bob was the headline speaker at the Bronzeback Blowout in 2005. It's great to have him back and in a smaller venue. You will come away from this meeting with great tips and techniques on how to catch river smallies. Bob is a regular contributor of raffle items and guide trips to the Blowout. Don't miss this one. This is an ISA members only meeting. I'll be raffling off some tackle. Bring a few dollars for your chance to win.

A fishing buddy (another ISA member) and I are planning on attending the ISA event tomorrow night, but in advance thereof, would like to fish some local waters tomorrow afternoon. Thinking about 3K River or Powerton Lake. Any suggestions for closer locales?

If you don't end up at the Kankakee or another river and you just want to catch fish....the ponds are hot right now! Of course the fish are a tad bit 'greener' there. Fish the wind blown shorelines with a shallow diving fat crank or toss a spinner bait with a slow to meduim retreive and you will catch fish. Rattle traps reeled in quickly will also elicit hard strikes this time of year.

Good luck and expect to see pics on the digital camera at the meeting. ;)
