In fact, most such groups are reporting a banner year in 2008. However, they are bracing for the next shock wave from the nation's deteriorating economy and anxiously watching the first quarter of this year, when many hold their annual fundraisers. Officials wonder whether people will volunteer less, contribute fewer dollars or fail to renew their memberships. "We haven't seen it yet, but we speculate that we probably will," said Neil Thagard of the Wild Sheep Foundation in Cody, Wyo. "In turn, the thing that loses out is the resource, and that would be the sheep on the mountain." Great Falls Tribune Article Or, in our case- Smallmouth Bass.
