  1. Two rods max in the canoe I say. You're primary stick and an alternate in case of an accident. The potentail downfall of a canoe is the temptation to bring a ton of stuff you couldn't bring when you were wading. I've found myself in the postion of having so much stuff I waste time analyzing what rod/lure/line I'm going to use instead of breaking down the water I'm going to fish. I've started getting everything I think I want to take with me together the night before I'm going to go for a float and then cut it down by about half.
  2. State law doesn't jibe with federal but who has the bucks and time to argue that in court? Park at bridges and go fishing!! If confronted be polite and just remove yourself from the situation and find somewhere else to go. If anyone threatens you physically call the cops. Take some trash bags with you and pick up a bag or two of garbage before you head out. Set them beside your car, that should buy you some goodwill. I've had a couple of property owners who forbide me from fishing on their property, but they only own to the center of the creek nudge nudge. They wanted to be on record that I was trespassing but they wouldn't give me any grief as long as I was respectful.
  3. I don't think there is a magic lure or color but I bet we can all think of at least one body of water we fish where a specific bait or color is just the bomb-diggity. I've fished a river for years where color makes a big difference when grub fishing. Smoke with red and black flake outfishes any other color on this river and has for as long as I've fished it. I've fished multiple colors from the same manufacturer, at the same time, in the same holes and drew blanks, switch to the smoke red/black flake and fish on.
