  1. Norm and I talked last fall about how he and I could fish together a little more because he was about to retire. We were both going through chemo

at the same time and I often thought about how he might be doing and said a lot of prayers for both of us. I was truly saddened when I heard he took a

turn for the worse. Norm was not a believer in cameras but I snapped this one while we were fishing below Warner bridge. Thank you Norm for introducing

me to some quality fishing spots and bending my ear with your experiences and stories. Just out of habit I will probably be looking for your car every time I

    go to the Kankakee.

  2. Just a note for the guys going up this weekend better plan on mostly drift fishing out of kayak, float or boat. Unless the levels don't get

down another 20% there won't be many places to wade. Dick and I were up there this past Tuesday, Wednesday and there aren't

many places to get out away from shore. I will follow up with an out of state report.

  3. I totally agree with Kip, one of the best Banquets I have attended. I also was sitting near him, he has been drunk and obnoxious at every dinner he has attended.

Lucky for me I had to leave early but it left a bad taste in my mouth that his friends couldn't keep him quiet.

BTW; the food was great as well as the speakers, thanks to all who worked so hard to put this together.

  4. Can I expect to get a better price than the MSRP or is this more of a showcase for people that don't know what they want?

I hate to make the drive just to look around when I pretty much know what I want. Will I be able to take the kayak home that day

if they have my model at a good price?

  5. Have not been on this site in over a month, nice to see some guys still trying. Anyway, when I got the ISA news letter a big smile came across my face. That is one of the more scenic spots on the river not to mention productive. Every time I have fished that spot it has given up at least one smallmouth of 18 inches or better, I think I have about eight pictures of big fish in front or behind that rock pile. Can't wait to get back.

  6. Last time up to the Menominee traveling from Marinette north via 180 to Tinkers Dam area the sign at the Rt. 64 turnabout said "closed to all but local traffic" I was able to get through with no problem. They are working on replacing culverts up and down this road. Or you can take RT. 141 past Crivitz, take a RIGHT on County X go about 15 miles to Rt. 180 and then south (right) to Tinkers Dam.

If anyone has any questions you can PM me, I'll do my best to help.

Also, on your return trip be aware of the Green Bay construction or you will end up going through Appleton.

  7. Steve, Ron, I agree with your statements. When wading I catch more fish out in the river on structure and weed lines that took a few years to discover. If we float we both will be using spinning gear but when we wade my brother would prefer to use his fly rod.

That will be determined by water levels, hoping for low water so we can do both. Again, thanks for the tips.

  8. Thanks for all the suggestions, greatly appreciated. My brother won't have to worry about learning the river since he will be fishing with me and I have been there about 25 times. He's an experienced fisherman and good at reading water so he will probably adapt quickly. More interested in what flies to tie so he doesn't have to purchase them when he gets here.
