Great new! Looking forward to the opening.

I see the same thing in the DuPage River. Creates a cloudy path downstream on the side of the quarry discharge in otherwise clear stream. I hope its not damaging to the fish. If EPA has no control measures for this there should be. Great work Terry and thank you for your efforts.

I can attest that Coosa kayak is a smallmouth catching machine! Although the fisherman may have something to do with it. I'd be all over it if I didn't have two in the garage already.

I wanted to make this outing badly but my schedule did not cooperate. The colorful photos of Colt's bluegill made me think of one I caught on 11 Point River this summer and photographed:

Great weather, great food, great fellowship and a great fly rod display made for a great event at today's Cast & Compare. Thanks a lot John for putting it together. Here are some photos from today:
to top it off after lunch of delicious brat and sweet corn I picked up a 14" on yellow muddler that fought like a 17"

Jesse, a lot of us were looking forward to the Riverbassin Tournament that usually takes place in Aurora in late July but was cancelled this year. Hopefully next year someone can pick up the ball and run the tournament which really wouldn't be that difficult and has big potential IMO. I think it would be fun to do a intra club tourney as well.

Rich, east branch of Dupage needs the paddling group, I'll pm you.

Can't believe this is good publicity for Mustad.

Sorry to hear about Paddle and Trail, I really liked the store and the people there. However Im sure the competition is steep with all the yaks being sold by the large box stores. Its not easy for the mom and pop stores. Is there still any way to salvage the Riverbassin tourney?

Im out of town next weekend. Selfishly hoping it might be continued again due to high water so I can make the rescheduled event. If it goes, have fun guys. Your efforts have obviously proven fruitful on the Fox. Welcome to the ISA Brian.

Thanks for suggestions AC. My feet seem to be taking more of a pounding this year. I'm going through band aid wrappers like candy. I'll give the neoprene socks a try and see if they help.

Any suggestions for footwear for wading that would help prevent blisters, callus, rash, while wading?

Are the Water Usage Stamps available now?

John, You should come with.

Thanks John, with the fairly stable weather pattern ahead looks like a good time to get on the Vermillion.
-
That looks like alot of fun!
-
John, hows the Vermillion looking now? Hoping to do a kayak/fly fishing trip this summer.

Gordon, would the Yakima load two kayaks?
-
Dick, great idea with the anchor. Now all Jim needs to do is grab a rod and cold drink and blast the song "Pontoon" on the speakers while reeling in a lunker.

Congrats Cody! I think Jay Angle had the old record and will have to let him know. Hope to make it on the 28th if not before to fish this wonderful fishing lake. Thanks for posting Rich.

Great tips and analysis for the kayak angler, Bterrill, so much of what you say rings true from my kayak fishing experiences, thanks alot.

Have to paddle like hell to get through them.
