Forrest, Mark Lutz told me he is in for Autumn Splendor.
-
Mark Lutz was interested but didn't know what to tie. How about a Lutzy meatwhistle variation?

Larry Babin of Hogsonthefly Guide Service (Hogsonthefly.com) in Mountain Home, AR, for full day guide trip on the White River-Norfolk River in his drift boat. My brother and I did day trip on White River with him last summer and was great fun with tremendous fishing.

I'm in. I'll tie some of Tom's foxy crawdads since he will be sending the Loomudclouski.
-
Great news! Hope to make it.

The movie, "Promised Land" really exemplifies the Illinois landscape particularly southern Illinois. In an economically deprived area, people are paid handsomely for their mineral rights and promised high paying jobs. Hard to turn down for them but at what price?

We still need help with next week's show at Tinley Park if anyone can volunteer. Presently have two workers for Saturday and one for Sunday. I can work Sunday afternoon and close. Need help with setting up booth Friday evening.
If you've never been to this show you should try to make it. Lots of neat stuff.

I saw the same story. Couldn't believe it. Then it showed they guys after the swim slowly putting on their clothes near the shore in what had to be sub zero weather, and being interviewed by the newsperson, speaking calmly and not shivering a bit. Amazing.

Mike and Scott should clean up with Austin at the helm. A drift boat on the Dupe, a fisherman's dream. Lets hope mother nature cooperates. If not, we may have switch to a bigger river.
-
Dick I will be there to help you pack up
-
Hope to make it early for dinner.

Also need help at Schaumburg for Fri 12-3 and Sun 10-5.
-
Still in need of help for Rosemont show on Thursday and Friday. If you can spare a few hours to help either of those days please let us know.
-
We need volunteers to work Rosemont on Thursday from 2-9 and Saturday 10-8.
-
Scott, I can close one of shows but will need someone to close the other. If Craig is working Schaumburg on Sunday, can I propose he close Schaumburg and I close Rosemont? I can also try to help fill in any gaps and will endeavor to prepare a chart tonight to see exactly what needs filled for both Rosemont and Schaumburg shows.

I watched the movie last night. A great documentary and must watch for our club members. Has me thinking of an idea for multi day float on the Fox from Illinois border to the confluence with the Illinois river. Thanks Ryan.

We'll have to have some luck with weather and water levels to kick this off this early. Hope springs eternal. The rivers Ron mentions and has shown to me are on the radar for sure as well as others I have in mind. More to come. I have a feeling this is going to be an incredible smallmouth year!
-
Will definitely check this film out. Three Western rivers on my "to fish" list; Yellowstone River, Snake River and Dechutes River
-
I'll be working with Ed as Chicago area coordinator and will kick the fishing season off with a float trip fishing trip for smallmouth on the DuPage River on March 8, 2014. This is less than 2 months away so start getting your fishing gear and yaks in order. More details will follow but plan will be to float approximately three mile stretch, with gathering afterwards at takeout. Don't worry if you don't have yak or don't want to float, as I'll share some wading spots for fisherman that only want to wade who can join all afterwards at takeout. This will be first of hopefully many fishing excursions/floats planned for this year.

Great looking fly!

Rob, used 1/8 "jig head, probably should tie some 1/16"to have both available.
-
My first attempt at tying hair jigs for winter smallie fishing. Tom recommended I use the craft fur for the hair jigs which I found easy to use but a little messy. Hopefully they will bring me some smallies this winter. If the weather ever warms up I plan to try under indicator (fnf) and swing freeline.

Have to give that one a try Tim. Nothing else seems to work for me.
