Fredmo
I'm taking a long weekend trip in May to the area in Tennessee around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I thought I'd take my fly rod and waders and see if I could land a trout. It has been suggested to me that since I'm clueless as to the streams in the area I might hire a guide for my first effort. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for someone in that area? For that matter, do you think a guide is necessary or desirable? bjensen
Fred, Without any personal recommendations I look to Orvis endorsed guides. No guarantees, but it's a place to start. http://www.orvis.com/intro.aspx?dir_id=22592&group_id=2981&cat_id=13912&subject=1088 Brian
Rob G
Just make sure if you head down to the Smokies, you've got a bunch of the area's classic Yellowhammer flies tied up.
