Just a reminder, this Sunday:

February 12, Sunday...(1-4 PM)...LEADER BUILDING and open fly tie We will be building standard tied knotted leaders and tying popular flies as well. Featured fly will be the Foxy Clouser, a fine crayfish imitation. We will have fox fur for you to sample and various sizes of mono-filament so to be able to tie your own leaders. Also if weather permits, we will get a chance to demo several bamboo fly rods built by master bamboo rod builder Timothy Troester.

Bloomington Fire station #2, 1911 E. Hamilton Rd. Bloomington, IL 61704 ph. 309-434-2285

Probably won't be demo'ing bamboo rods this Sunday with wind chills in the 14 to 18 degree range so we'll save that for our March meeting. We still should have a lot of good stuff going on so plan on coming out and joining in the fun. Notice that this is not the fire station that we used last year but #2 just off south Veterans Pkwy.

We had a nice turnout of 15 or 16 for our February gathering. Jim Z is shown below giving instruction on how to tie a Foxy Clouser, a fine crayfish imitation. Also we had a chance to cast one of Timothy T's latest bamboo rods, a 6'3" 4 wt. that had a more modern and faster taper. It was a lot of fun and will be even more enjoyable once the weather warms up and we can work a line a on water rather than frozen grass. Our next gathering will be on March 18 th in Champaign-Urbana so plan on attending.
