Told her I was up for some stream monitoring and talked about the Fox River. Clean up scheduled for May 20, I see a busy season for me!!! I know dam removal is good for the river BUT.... All the silt and island erosion has knocked the Hell out of some PRIME spawning areas behind Funway. What once were run riffle holes have become shoals and bars a complete change from what used to be. That was one of the main questions about dam(n) removal when it was first conceived... ...but hey, maybe all that silt will end up in New Orleans and keep them from losing the French Quarter in the next hurricane.
