Like most fly tiers I’ve been making a few Cicada flies to be ready for the big hatch this year. A larger, simple foam black beetle usually works just fine but it’s fun to be creative and see what else will work. After seeing a video of a cicada on the water sputtering around I came up with the Buzzed Cicada Tube Fly armed with a small plastic tube propeller from Pro Sportfisher. The eyes are plastic beads attached to mono and I burnt the wings from poly wing material. D0D195BB-F118-4C83-9643-0870F7399768.thumb.jpeg.a0c1048a234d59425f273659a738cc20.jpegA3EF0AC3-7B32-4821-B6BB-19F043300E14.thumb.jpeg.13674303a5882b7f87c7b6935cb0c550.jpeg0670C865-40AE-4F27-AC1C-AEF00602E5BA.thumb.jpeg.e2ddaf9ea22e81b16252e31c4459f47c.jpeg
