  1. Had a great time working at the show. Had an issue with my voice but was able to make it through. Still managed to talk to alot of people. I know in the next few weeks we will see additional people from the shows signing up on line. The people that i explained our purpose to seem so overjoyed that there are still organizations out there that are working for the common good. Ps Don when do we get our all exp. paid trip to the Amazon for Peacock bass. See ya on the river Ray

  2. My two favorite kank rods are both gloomis rods/the bronze back 7'2' med is a great all around rod/it can handle heavier jigs and cranks and still can toss the lightest jigs/fast tip with plenty of back bone/my other is also a loomis/ its the 6'10" med light drop shot rod/they have two in this line one is also a ultra light at the same length/I use the heavier of the two/unbelievable sensitivity with small grubs and craws/Iam convinced until this rod I missed a lot of pickups and then drops/brought it for drop shotting Geneva but it has switched into the river arsenal///just my opinions but these have done me well for a few years.

  3. I have been employing the drop shot for many years now. It has been my biggest success at Lake Geneva and also on the big lake. I also fish clear quaries often with great luck. As far as worms go I use a few/chompers has graet colors and that scent/also robo worms, gamblers giggi stickd are half hollow and really soft. I have found there are days when its all about the shaking and others when the wave action is more than enough. I also employ a more power fishing version were I use heavier line and drop shot in heavy vegatation. Dropping it in the holes and shaking it/this has got me some big fish in heavily pressured lakes. Good luck Ray

  4. I have been useing the flour. for two years. The pline/seagar/triline/triple fish/ are all good. Works best on baitcast gear, but I do use10lb for the river on spin gear. Rarely do I have a break off. for cost effectiveness I will tie on a flour. leader on braid useing a uni knot. Seams to be the best of both worlds. When the water is low and clear I believe the flour. has it advantages. Stay away from vanish and floroclear/neigther comes close to the ones I have mentioned. You can get triple fish at Gander mt.

  5. I agree with norm that the sounds(crunching rocks ,splashing and pushing water)Are the biggest cause of spooking. I will go go dwn. stream or up stream depending on access, and lot of times I will go on shore and walk around dead areas and approach a prime area from shore in. I have had great success when carp are kicking up silt into a area, I think this really does not effect the smallies mood in a negative way. I used to go out to Heideke and follow the carp on shore and throw twin tails around the clouds and p/u smb.//just my view///Raymond k

  6. I use scent often. I find I use it more to cover up my smells ( bug spray/sun block/foods). I make it easy by putting a few plastics in a baggie and putting a few drops in it. This also seems to soften some baits up a bit. My favorite is to dip plastics in char. spike it to add some color and sent in low vis. water. Leaving for Ky. lake tonight/looking for that 6lb smb/and some warmer weather/ Good fishin Raymond k

  7. What a great day . Its nice when the weather cooperates. Nice meeting new memebers and seeing old ones. Ending haveing a pretty good day/totales 15 fish/all out of area 7. Most on 5" grubs/two on cranks and 3 on a swim bait. Biggest was a 16" on a swim jig. All caught on seams working slowley. The carp are sure tearing things up/I almost through a sammy at some of that surface turmoil. Raymond k

  8. just adding my two cents/I have been useing a Diawa Zillion for two tourn. seasons with great results/tough as nails and easy to cast light baits/I also use it in the river for most heavier jig applications/another point is the gear ratio/I have the 7:1 /and I kmow this has landed me a ton of extra fish/We all know how a smallie will grab a craw bug and rip dwn current/its nice to be able to catch up quickly/its $$$ at 225, but I always buy at the real trade time at bass pro/you can get 40-50 off and your old reals go to a good cause/I couls buy anything but I have found this to be ther best, Raymond K

  9. I have been fishing from tubes for a good 6years now. Sarted out with a round one and then a u shaped. I now have a bass cat/it is by far the best option. The main advantage in this one is you sit up higher. Only from your knee down are you in the water. I dont know about others but if I can keep my privates out of the water I'm happy. I think I payed $130 for mine. It has two seperate bladders and the front comes to a point making long runs easier. I have used it a Mazonia and other Quarries with great success. I have always used swim fins/what makes it nice is you can always position yourself for the best casting angle/and if there is wind you just point into it and kick lightly. It also comes with 2 storage areas/aremoveable lap table and a spot behind you were I lay 3 other poles/also the seat and back rest have two seperate bladders to fill depending on your comfort level/the seat can also have the angle adjusted. You can mail order theese/I also think bass pro and dicks carry some. I fish every possible way but I still think this is the easiest and most relaxing.

  10. Used them last year in some of my tourn./with great luck/had my best luck useing them with a twist in cone weight /fishing heavy cover /with a pull a drop technique/had my best luck with them on Lake Geneva/got me a large bag for the day/when they drop through heavy matts the fall is deadly/black being the color of choice for me RAY K

  11. I to had great luck useing swim jigs last season/when the moss got bad it was my most succesful search bait/I like to throw it in top of the matt and pull it right over/you will get surface strikes right through the matt/I found the 5" grubs to my likeing/in the kank the white and char. colors had the best luck/the 1/4 size is the best for all around use/I was useing Outcast jigs but plan on makeing my own this year/ I canot wait

  12. I wait for this peak time every year/yeah i said peak/on the k3 I have a few spots that they stack up beyond belief/I can do as well sometimes in the summer ,but I may walk miles nad miles to find them and change bait over and over/when I get this fall run I walk a short distance to a couple spots and usually get them/mostley on top waters also/I,m not bragging just letting people know that this time can be a great big fish time/I donot post pictures because I think the cropped photos luck dumb but I also donot want to go out and see ten guys standing on these spots/no offence/if this weather holds I may get this bite for a few more weeks/It all has to do with the shad/I had fish with numerous shad in there mounths with the treble pinning it shut, bait fish still alive/you donot see that all the time/Its all about food/ da/I,m fishing to Janurary if I can
