I have canoed the mazon several times with the prarie state canoeists,we would put in at rt. 113 and float down to the take out.I don't remember the name of the the take out,but I do remember that the natives are not friendly.We had to be very careful not to even step onto private property.

I can't say what the fishing was like as the PSC is rather anti fishing and I couldn't fish and keep up with the group

I just got one at B P S in bolingbrook. There aren't many left.

every time I return from wading I always-always- wash both my waders and felt soled shoes in soapy water and thoroly let them dry.I do this more for the benefit of my equipment than conservation reasons.I guess I have to ask,Is this good enough to sterilize them. If not I will consider new wading shoes.

I had a similar experience several years ago along the apple river although it was November and I was deer hunting at the time.I was on a stand along the river when a military type helicopter came roaring down the river valley.You are right about the noise that thing made,it sure rattled my cage.I later saw a game warden,and asked if they were using a 'copter and he said no they were not

I would like very much to be there sat. to help out in any way that I can.However in as much as I still am not able to drive I would need a ride to get there.I am located in Darien near 75th and cass.I can arrange a ride home if need be.

Federal funds are granted to the states on the basis of the number of registered watercraft in each state. When I learned that I didn't mind registering my canoe as much.

I just spent 4 days in the woods along the apple river, turkey hunting,smallmouth fishing and morel mushroom hunting.Score- turkey-0 smallmouth-many-morels-0.All in all it was a very good trip.

The smallies mostly wanted rapalas and senkos.
