You are the poster boy for braid. I think I saw an ad for power pro in one of my magazines and you were the featured picture.
-
I absolutely love it! I know, I know I hate to join the "braid gang", but I must admit this stuff is good. I think it is quieter than other braids and does cast incredibly. In addition, as Mark said, it does retain its green color longer than power pro.

Eric is right! Fall means Hawg Time! Don't be afraid to throw some really outrageosly large lures this time of year. You will be pleasantly surprised by the large fish that pull on your string.
As for Flukes - I love them, but for some reason this year they have been worthless! I cannot figure it out but 2007 has not been the year of the Fluke - at least for me. Normally, I never leave home without them, but the last few trips I have left them at home. Maybe punishing them by leaving them at home will cause them to behave.

Very sorry to hear about your health problem. Hope all comes out well.

Nice work Mr. Sullivan.

That is Awesome!!!! One question................where is the Mackinaw and North Vermilion?
-
My favorite is the 6'3" medium, extra fast action.

I just got word from a member of the St. Croix staff that the Avids are going on sale as St. Croix's has decided to re tool the whole Avid line. I have already checked BPS and they are on Clearance pricing. If you like the Avid blank as much as I do, you may want to keep a look out and grab a few while they last. They WILL NOT LAST LONG!!!!

Cool Rich. Glad the jigheads worked out for you.

You can order by emailing me at grahamj@district87.org. Make sure you tell me how many jigs you want, what size head, and what color pattern. After you have placed your order, I will reply to your email with your total cost.

There we go. I know it is a little large but I think it shows the jig in great detail!

Let's try this picture again! This a 1/4 oz model

For summer I usually just fish them faster and add on a bigger plastic trailer. Right now I have been having success throwing the jig with Chompers new twin tail trailer. The twin twister tails add a bunch of action when you lift the jig off the bottom and when you let it settle back down. You can check out the jig trailers at www.chompers.com

My father in law and I have been working hard these past few months on our jigs. Trying to work out a few glitches and working on ways to make a good jig even better. When it comes to our Ouchigon jig, I think we have had made some great improvements. For instance:
1. We now have incorporated a twin wire weedguard
2. While the head is still a football jig, we have went to a 60 degree hook eye. It seems this hook eye drastically reduces snags
3. We have went to an even better hook than before. We now use an Owner 60 degree, deep throat, cutting point hook. This hook is really something!!!
Here is a pic of our re tooled Ouchigon:
By the way, the Ouchigon jigs are $2.50 apiece for stock colors, and $3.00 apiece for custom colors. If you order a dozen, you do get a price break.

Outstanding!!! I pray to the lord above that my son, daughter, or both love to fish as much as I do!

I think Eric and Gary hit it right on the head. High water does not seem to be that detrimental as long as it does not come during the spawning period. I feel like high water in early to mid spring is a good thing as it allows smallies to head up creeks and other feeders to spawn.

I have both and would definitely vote for the Medium-extra fast. IMHO, the 6'3" medium, extra fast Avid spinning rod is the best all around spinning rod ever produced.

Tim is exactly right as it pertains to Illinois. I have talked with the DNR attorney and he basically said what Tim said. I think the law should be revised, but I have little "pull" down in springfield. I will start going to Wisconsin more due to their fair stream laws.

A true four pound smallie in our state's rivers is fairly rare as well. Big difference between a 3 pounder and 4 pounder. Five pounder? I don't think so.
-
Nope. Don't have a picture either. It is a two tone silver color.

I have a Daiwa Capricorn casting reel. Used three times...........mint condition. Lefty model. Have the box to go with it. I need $50 plus $5 for shipping. Let me know if you are interested.

I must agree about the hot fishing of late. My last few guide trips have been very good. Two smallies over 18 inches for clients and a day where three anglers caught 50 smallies in less than a half mile of river. AWESOME!! hot weather.............keep it coming!!!

I have been using it on baitcasters and spinning reels. Seems to work great for both.
