the rain stopped as we all gathered. forrest, john, mike ,stan, steve, eugene jim, tim and a friend. it felt more like an October day than end of july. water temps were down 13 degrees , thick weeds were thinning out. Eugene did the best with some nice largemouth on topwater and one of his secret flies. steve lost a nice musky on a crankbait, smallies were caught by the dam but no size. tim and his friend had some bass on a spinnerbait. mike,stan and jim s had kayaks . mike had it easy with his electric motor. shabbona can be a hard lake to fish today it was tough but we still managed to catch some despite the cold wind and cold front. rich mc
