Yeah that's what I thought too. No takers so far though. Those rods are nice also, I think you need both of them :-)

Now that I have figured out how to add pictures I will add actual pics of the 2 reels and the rods as soon as I can.

Can't you cut the hooks off and add split rings and new hooks? Just sayin.

Actually, it TOOK a year, but that's because they had still been working on them. They were late in releasing them. So, I got mine a year after I had ordered them. "Them" being a Yellowstone, and a Madison. I have yet to get the Madison, but I'm still waiting.
Do you know of a website that has a better close up picture of the rock pattern? I think I am going to order one in the somewhat near future. Do you know who actually makes the reel? I think it would look pretty sweet on the Sage Smallmouth rod.

Thanks for the info. Send me an email schad_beth@comcast.net and copy me at smartin@tazewell.com I am currently saving for a sage smallmouth rod and would like to get one of those reels to put on it. Kingfisher out of Montana will drop ship one and they want a lot more than $75 but I would not want to wait a long time you said about a year ?????? My cell is 309 267-1650. If you don't mind, send me your email and phone number, if not thats ok. Thanks Schad

Hey Greg, I am trying to locate one of those reels. I talked to Jonn and he said to give you a shout. Montana Fly only sells to retailers, any idea who has one in stock? Also, what is the difference between the Yellowstone and the Madison? Thanks Schad

This is what I have been looking/waiting for. I fished a super fluke alot with regular gear. The closest thing I have seen are big Pike flies or those gummy like flies of which I have never tried. If anyone needs a field tester I'm game.

Has anyone fished it around the Park Falls/Phillips area? I was told about a 2 or 3 mile float between two dams around that area. Was looking for some insight put ins and places to stay if it is worth while?.....Thanks in advance if anyone responds.

Seriously we've known Craig all along the start of his journey, but theFly Tyer article is big, he will appear again soon in the same magazine & a book in publication to be released this year devotes a chapter to his flies. In short if you have'nt met Craig look for him at the blowout tying at the start - bring a copy of the current spring issue of fly tyer (spring) & get him to sign it. Look for Hairy Fodder to appear in catalogs & retail shops this year by Rainey's flies.
What issue of Fly Tyer is he in? I checked the website and can't find his article.

Has anyone bought, used, or checked out any of there magnetic "Zip-No" closure packs? Namely the "Current" chest pack? Not real sure I would want to wear it as a chest pack, I think it would bug me. I was thinking about just carrying it as a tackle bag, or maybe rigging it as a sling pack or just as a canoe tackle bag.

Steve:
I have tried tapered leaders!!! I like them very much. I have watched my fly sink when tied on a tapered leader and I have seen my fly sink when on a straight mono leader........they are not the same. I can cast plenty far enough with the straight mono leader. I can see how the tapered leader would be the way to go on many different occassion. But when it comes to fishing subsurface, no one can debate the point that the fly is not going to sink the same as it would with a straight mono leader. If I am fishing deep current, I want my fly to get down quickly to where the fish are..........not drag due to the stiff butt section of the leader.
I am not against tapered leaders!! I just want people understand that there is no way in god's creation that you are going to convince me that fishing deep with a tapered leader is the way to go when compared with a straight mono leader!
In addition, did you not read Craig's post???? Craig has been doing this fly fishing thing to the max for many years. You can turn over a fly with a straight mono leader, as Craig said in his post. I myself being a rookie, can turn a fly with a straight mono leader. I am not an expert fly caster by any means, but I am practicing casting nearly every day. With more practice with the straight mono leader, I predict that i will be able to turn over a fly just as well without the tapered leader. I have another fly fishing friend that never, never uses a tapered leader and catches smallmouths, stripers, and such like they are going out of style.
This thread has gotten out of control. Partly my fault. But sometimes I and others have to stand up for something.
I don't even know why I even posted this reply..............I had said I was done. Bad day at work - one of my co workers just told me I need to go fishing and chill out. I am now done for sure..........I promise.
AMEN, Iagree with what Jonn said. LOL

I can't respond to the leader thing cause I don't squat about it. BUT I will add my 2 cents to fish position in rivers and activity.
There are certainly hot summer days when you find fish in a deep water pool but are still very active. Jonn's rivers are cut much deeper than the DuPage and 95% of the Fox.
The Mack and Vermillion to name two have some very deep pools and active fish can and are caught all through the summer in those pools.
AMEN, I agree with The Big Hammer.

If you like the set up you are using, get rid of the loops and tie a blood knot.

I am finally done fishing tournaments and have no need for all the reels I have. For sale are 7 Shimano Coriolus reels. Four of them are the white ones and they were gone through by Jims Rod and Reel repair this spring. One of the white ones I dropped and the plastic reel seat broke so it is essentially a parts reel. It works great but can't put it on the rod. The other 3 are the black version of the Shimano Coriolus. They were purchased new off ebay this spring and I only used one of them. I am asking $30 each for the black ones since they are new and $25 for the white ones. Hopefully someone wants all three of the white ones and the parts reel will be thrown in for free. Buy'em quick so I don't have to look at them any more. I will take $150 for all of them to get rid of them and make shipping easier.
Thanks Schad

I'll send one in the next few days. Hmmmm. I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve.
Yeah, I'm interested to see how it turns out myself. I'm just bummed out that the weather turned cold and kind of ruined tha fall bite. I'm sure it was good for people that have all kinds of time to fish but with 2 kids a awife getting her MBA fishing time disappears. Not to mentioned getting suckered into fishing tournaments this past season. I have officially retired from that crap again and am now back into having fun i.e. flyfishing.
