  1. St Croix Legend Elite 6'6" Medium Lite Fast (ES66MLF) I bought this rod mid season 2008. Cork is still nice and clean. I'm selling it to replace it with a 7' Legend Elite. Paid $300 plus tax. I'd like to get $225. If your interested e-mail me at johnnielund@sbcglobal.net or call 847-271-0366.

    Thank You.

  2. I just got my new spinning rod from Elk River Rods. Awsome looking rod. Very nice workmanship. Can't wait for spring to see how it fishes. For those of you looking for a new rod. Give these guys a look. They are in Phillips, Wisconsin. (www.elkrivercustomrods.com). Phone number is 715-339-4209

  3. I just ordered a spinning rod from Elk River Custom Rods (http://www.elkrivercustomrods.com/) I ordered a BSP66M. This is a new company in Phillips WI. I have heard nothing but good things about them. I've talked to the owner, Marc Maronne a couple of times. He's a really nice guy, and says all the correct things. I read a post on another web site, where one guy said he was going to sell all his St Croix Legend Elites and replace them with Elk River Rods. I had to try one. I'll post again when I get it. Then I can wait till spring to try it out and let you all know.

  4. My brother lives in El Cajon, California (suburb of San Diego). For the past 4 years he spends a week here in the summer time. These two pictures are of him on the Menominee River up in Pembine Wisconsin. Smalmouth fishing was fantastic for the two days we were there. That Smallie was just a bit over 3LBS. I didn't notice the scale being turned around when I took the picture

  5. The Quite Man from 1952. Stared John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. The parish priest (Father Peter Lonergan) was fly fishing in the river while Maureen O'Hara (Mary Kate Danaher) was explaining the problems she was having with her new husband (Sean Thornton) to him in the Galic language no less. I have always wondered exactly what she was telling him. Since I don't speak the Galic language or know anyone who does, i guess I'll never find out.

  6. Norm,

Glad to hear your doing well. I just had 4 stents put in on 9-20-07. No graber, no pain, no warning. I truly had a silent killer stalking me. I'm 56 years old, don't exercise or eat properly, have bad family history and a younger brother (thank God for him) who kept hounding the bjesus out of me to have a stress test. I had 2, 70% blockages in the right coronary artery and 1, 70% in the left anterior descending. I'm now in the process of "life style change", and I begin the cardiac rehab program 10-19-07.

I wish you the best of everything, and keep in mind, there are a whole bunch of us in the same boat. Thank God for modern medicine!

To all the rest of you who are reading this "GO GET THAT STRESS TEST!"

  7. Good Luck! I shouldn't say that. I don't think you need luck when you're out with Mike. I've never had the opportunity to fish with Mike, but had a chance to talk with him at the Milwaukee Sports Show, and heard him speak at the "Blowout". Really a nice guy and sure knows what he's talking about. Let us know how you did.
