Planning on doing a canoe outing this coming weekend with my wife. The plan is to put in at Hamel wood and take out at Minooka road.

How is the river flow? Gauges show higher than normal. Is it still easy paddling?

How is the smallmouth fishing in this stretch? I have not fished this area before.

Thank you Rob. If canoeing the middle fork is not an option is there a reasonable wadding stretch that might produce?

I have never fished the Middle Fork or the Salt Fork of the Vermillion by Danville. Looking to try it on Labor Day. Was hoping to canoe but hear middle fork is low. Is the Salt fork a productive smallmouth river?

Looking around it seems that there are only a few sport shows this year. Which shows will ISA attend?

I am hearing the Rosemont show is trying to improve. Lots of speakers.

Is the Great waters fly show no longer held?

Tinely Park show, Rockford Show and Bloomington Show are the only others I see.

What is everyone else hearing?

A kayaking friend told me tonight that there is a problem on the Vermillion by wildcat den. Sounded like the area around the concrete plant has had alot of errosion and changed the flow. Has anyone heard anything of this? He made it sound like it could affect upstream.
