  1. Good turnout. the flies above remain nameless but the pattern is developed. Also visited Big Willie, another fish catcher that works on inactive bass. Thanks, Craig good luck on Mille Lacs & share some pics when you have them.
  2. Tomorrow is Orvis Days promotion. Sale prices, Firewater BBQ & craft beer at lunchtime plus other activities including Drift tying with customers & kids. Runs from 10 to 3pm, drop by & say hi. Tie some new bass catching flies with Craig starting at noon.

He will talk about his guide service on Lake Mille Lacs, MN. for bass, pike, musky & walleye all on the fly. You can tie one of his original patterns & he will share techniques for fishing all depths with the fly rod.

This class is for tyers of all skill levels. He will work you through a spun head streamer & a stacked topwater bug. Bring your vise & tools, we will provide materials.

He fishes the Foxy Craw & Craft Hair Minnow often in tandem with great success. We'll join him to tie one of his latest flies. Bring your vise & thread, we'll provide materials. Lunch nearby if you have time.

Rich's flies are now produced by Rainey's Inc. & available in fly shops. He will adapt the style to jig heads for the spin fisherman. Bring vise & tools if you have them, or use some ours. Materials provided. We will be in a separate room - BYO lunch or drinks. See you there!

  17. She comes from a farm backround & deserves the chance to include all interested parties in DNR decisions. Lets hope its not a green light for factory farm permits( not a DNR decision anyway.) They need to staff the conservation & biologist positions that are open soon. Glass 1/2 full IMO.

  19. Uni to uni is all I use. Not sure if that's the same as Rob's suggestion. Easy to tie even in low light. I use the uni knot for terminal too.
  20. He is very thoughtful & explained a lot of the reasons for the way he ties tube flies. I may have to try it, with the stranded steel leader he gets a durable fly that still has a lot of motion. He fishes them as much for bass but pike don't just steal your fly. check out his you tube as he posts step by step demos for his patterns.
