  3. Bite was a little slow. Most of my fish came off drifts tight to the bottom with a number at the end of the drift on a long pause. About average for me with the fly rod,
  4. Thanks Bart & Eugene for the pics. A huge shout out to the 9 who put 400 plants in the ground. It felt so good to do something normal & the rain delay made for a nice time to catch up.
  5. Never fished a Steffan but a number of newer S glass rods do a great job. A right balance of length, action & line profile will make a rod sing. The only thing you get from fast graphite is 6" loops & long casts not that either of those are bad.
  6. Picking up the plants tomorrow. 5 responses so far, this will be easy if a few more come. Stop by to visit if you have time.
  7. About 75% of the time with glass. From 4 to 10wt. some older rods are more work but the right lenght & line make a big difference. Some favorites Phiilipson 7' 6" wt, Fisher 8' 6wt. S glass Lamiglas 8' 6wt. Orvis superfine (recent) 6 & 8wt. I could go on but you should know I also like early graphite thats moderate in action Sage RPL 7wt. Scott Heliply 7wt. Come to the Cast & compare in September, I'll have more than a few to try. Or maybe we get together closed to you sometime for a casting day. John
