  1. I do use the Hackle and I often put rubber legs on as well, but i don't think they are always necessary. I need to learn to paint a little better though!
  2. Some poppers that I tyed up. Found out I can't paint very well.
  3. I will be back home around thanksgiving and I wanted to hit up some of the areas rivers, I was thinking of trying the spoon or henderson, does anyone have any experience with it? I have not got a chance to chase bronze around this area yet and I am really looking forward to it. I am willing to float or wade, pm me if you want. Andy
  4. I would reccomend Asti spumante....oh the town of Champaign. I would say the salt fork would work for you, if it's not blown out.
  5. I was thinking of trying that, but I believe that they are pumping water out at a very high rate from the spillway, which is where I assume you are implying. I don't know of any other areas to access the river, although I am sure the are smallies in some of the tributaries. of shelbyville lake. I was thinking more of the vermillion river or mackinaw or something in the champaign area.
  6. I was planning on heading over to fish in Missouri this weekend but Gustav has ruined that for me. I need an idea for a trip here in the prairie state. I will need to rent a canoe or kayak and have a place to camp and I will be heading up from Carbondale so the closer to Southern Illinois the better. I would be willing to drive about 3:30 hours. If anyone needs a fishing partner for the weekend I am more than willing! Thanks Andy

Is there still a canoe available?
  8. I once caught a amplifier for a car radio, and a BPS rod combo with a 2lb white bass still on the line at Kinkaid Lake.
  9. Two methods I have learned. 1. Spray with rubbing alcohol, you will see the inside area of the hole turn gray, fix with aquaseal. 2. fill with air and spin the leg so that no air can escape, hold under the water and watch for bubbles, again fix with aquaseal. Hope this helps.
  10. I am going to become a member, as soon as I have $25 to spend . Kinda hard on a grad students budget. I mostly do float trips in MO. Current river, castor river, Jacks Fork, Niangua, and a few others I won't mention on the internet. I am also searching for some smallie rivers in Southern Illinois. I know there are a couple. If anyone knows of any, and where to access them, let me know.
  11. I just registered for the forum today and I gotta say, it is about time time I found this site. Spend lots of my weekends chasing smallies in MO and I have got the bronzebach fever bigtime. If there is ever a get together Downstate I would love to attend. Can't wait till it stops raining so I can go and catch some.
