  1. Rob, I used a simple open type rope cleat in my Kyak. It's a little different position (center). I attach two small diameter clothesline ropes with the small workout dumb bells front 2lb and rear 3lb. The ropes go through the end rope handle carriers and I can lower either or both anchor weights and weave and lock them through the open rope cleat. A link to the one I have is @ cabelas. I have the cheaper nylon one. I used my Pop rivet gun to mount it to the Kyak. The link is : http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/search.cmd?form_state=searchForm&N=0&fsch=true&Ntk=AllProducts&Ntt=the+rope+cleat&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products Thanks for the good E Central tyers meeting last night. Had a great time.
  2. Had a great time at the last Bloomington Fire Dpt Fly tying get together. Does anyone remember when Jim Z's fly casting workshop was. I think it was this weekend? I'd like to get together with him, and the guest I brought is really interested. Fred Mo and others can you help me out. How do I contact Jim Z. I know he's in the Heyworth area, If someone can PM me. Thanks, Rick L

  4. That's good I guess? At least it is admitted and addressed, contained and cleaned up. I could only think of the boiler cleaner spill from the U of I that went down the bone ditch to the Salt Fork in our area and the Ammonia and other compounds did kill fish for several miles.
  5. Being a Central Il member I don't get to fish up on the Des Plaines or Dupage Rivers as of yet, but wondered if anyone is seeing or knows whether this is going to have an effect on the environment and the fish. I saw a story in our local paper and found one from the Trib online. I hadn't seen anyone talking about this significant spill. I don't know, but it would seem to me it would be hard to clean up 6,000 Gallons of used oil sludge with no bad envirenmental impacts seen as is reported?? I have fished the Kankakee and I know this stream is connected. Thought it would be good to get some input from people closer to the situation. Here is the link to the Trib story : http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/c...0,6444384.story
