Fred Moore and I are planning on being there at 8 at the conc. stand--looking forward to seeing ol friends and enjoying the day
and hopefully catching some smallies. See ya soon.
There were sign posting on both the Vermillion and twice on the Mackinaw with the help
of Jonn Graham, Karl Crapse , Dave Franklin Doug Hettinger and Paul Tobeck and Steve Jordan.
Unfortunley the signs were gone before the summer was over.
Steve and Dave both served as Conservation Directors previously for the central region.
Sorry for getting a report in so late. It was sure good to see some friends I have not seen
in a few years and enjoyed talking and hashing over previous outing. I feel the same way Norm feels
about finding good smallie hot spots that should have held fish and working them over both Rob and me
and coming up empty. Rob finally got one on the way back to this spot and it finally produced. It was
a awesome day and the fishing was good but the catching was slow. Rob is a excellent partner and very good
guide. We found some awesome spots but empty. maybe next time. Thanks guys. Hope to see ya soon.
For the Verm. and Salt Fork outing we will meet at the Oakwood truck stop at
8:00A.M. Please respond to this site if you plan on coming. As of Middle Fork is wading
and the Salt may be canoeing. Contact Dave or Rob.
See ya soon

John Gillio and I fished a very stained Vermilian sat. It looked like something was being pumped into the water
from upstream. We caught numbers in the fast water, all small. After a late lunch we tried anoyjer spot and it was ,
crystal clear. We caught numbers and size and then the stained water started flowing and the fishing switch was
clicked off. Still a very good day fishing with John. New river --new friend.
I recall years ago talking to a dnr guy and he is the source of the ph in the river.
We will meet at 9:00 on rt. 23 right off the of ramp of Route 74. Coming from the south take exit 201 and turn right
and I will be waiting there in a Green Ranger Ex tended cab. Coming from the north take Rt.23 exit and turn left and
same thing , I will be waiting. Iam going to wade and will help shuttle anyone who want' to float. It is a5 mile
float I'am told.
Please let me know how many are planning to attend.
