  1. Interested but not committed (yet). Calling dibs on a kayak probably isn't appropriate, huh? I didn't see a boat ramp. Is there a way to put in a flat bottom jon boat (on a trailer)? Is the river safe and navigable MOST of the time? Sorry but too many variables to commit yet.
  2. Aw, dang it! Completely missed the January time! Well, hopefully this month I'll remember!
  3. I've developed a new fly. I pull out some half dried mucus from my nose, ensure it has plenty of nose hair interspersed, and tie it to a small hook. I call it the "Wolly booger." Sorry if this is too rough for a family-based website. This is what winter is doing to me!
  4. New to ISA but wanting to learn. I'm afraid I haven't much to contribute but if you all don't mind someone looking over your shoulders, I'm game. Jeff
  5. I'm sure a buddy of mine would love to smoke a Cuban cigar there while flyfishing. He's always got a brownish haze hovering over him.
  6. Definitely a loop (though it's tough to find it on a lot of the smaller spinnerbaits).
  7. New to ISA but wanted to pipe in. I love to ice fish if and when the ice gets safe. Doesn't happen every winter around here or not, at least, until the latter part of winter. Last year, obviously, was not a problem. Wore myself out using my hand auger-the ice became so thick! Don't know if I would much care for it if all I had were tip ups but my flasher makes it great fun-and reasonably productive. Anyone who says bass can't be caught through the ice hasn't been doing it very long. But I also enjoy catching bluegill, crappie, and the occassional catfish. We have few walleye downstate except at Dawson Lake. Anyway, I can't wait to get on the ice (eventually) and also to hear the stories of others. Stay safe and don't risk thin ice!!!
