  1. Fine work Terry, There are many who believe we need less government regulation in ours lives. This certaintly shows that in this case (or anything environmental)we need more! (or perhaps we just need the laws on the books enforced)! Mark F. O'Donnell
  2. Norm, I would like to bring my jonboat or canoe to pick up the tires and what not that seem the hang around the islands, this stuff usually gets overlooked on cleanups as it is a little hard to haul out. Who else can join me in doing the same and provide shuttle service so we can get back to our vehicles? Thanks, Mark O'Donnell
  3. Can't make it Saturday, so will be there Friday morning working the stretch downstream from the mouth of Rock Creek (after I fish it of course)! Norm, does the Park still pick up trash from the dumpster by the concession stand (which appears to be closed)? Mark O'Donnell
  4. I know that when I visit out of state park, I have to pay a daily fee. Maybe, we should start with charging out-of- state visitors first!
  5. Happy Thanksgiving to all the members and their families! MarkO
  6. Gas prices have surged already (in what they had in the tanks before) in the area.
  7. Fellas, Put me down. I will help out like last year. Mark O'Donnell
  8. Hello ISAer's, About 7 days per month, Beavers can become quite irritable. Or maybe it is only 7 days per month that they are not? MarkO
  9. Best of Luck on the tune-up Norm. May God look down on and smile on the patron saint of the Kankakee. Mark O'Donnell
  10. Dave, Can you go into any detail on what was said about the Green River? I fish there a couple times a year so I'm interested. PM me if you do not what to disseminate sensitive information! Thanks, Mark O'Donnell
  11. Hi Mike, I'll be there again to help out (unless work gets in the way). Will keep in touch on this. Remember keep the burgers frozen! Mark O'Donnell
  12. While efforts to thwart this nuisance fish from entering up throught the Sanitary & Ship Canal into Lake Michigan are all well and fine, I wonder about the Cal Sag Channel as well. Does this not also connect to Lake Michigan? Why no efforts here? Something very serious and drastic may be the only way to stop them. The only surefire approach appears cutting off the canals/channels from the lake, period. I wonder what the State is willing to do as a last resort before it is too late? Mark O'Donnell
  13. Then you woke up! Right? Mark O'Donnell
  14. Could not agree more with Mark K. I have canoed and fished this waterway since 1977. My first thought though was that I could not believe that this stream had the forage base to support such a large fish. If you know this stream, it wasn't hard to figure out where he was fishing. 15. Schad, If you mean the Turtle Flambeau, stayed there about 30 years ago. Remember floating that stream. Did OK for Smallies and 1 Muskie. Don't remember the place we stayed at in Mercer it was on the flowage. Had a bar and cottages. It awas real cheap. It think it was on something called Rice Lake. I would check with the chamber of commerce up there or just find what you can online. Mark O'Donnell
  16. Ok all you old hippies! Check this out! www.tribute2woodstock.com/ Any smallmouth in Nippersink Creek? Mark O'Donnell
  17. Hi Scott, I am not overly versed on this as well. However, have heard some say for instance wading the Kankakee is not recommended if over 1500 ft/per second. I see today it is at 4600 at Wilmington. Therefore that tells me that it is really moving, probably none to clear and would most likely have to fish any slack water areas (if any) or use heavier baits. In other words, it would be tough! Mark O'Donnell
  18. John, I will have to back out as well. Sorry, work has once again gotten in the way of fishing. Thanks for the invite. Mark O'Donnell
  19. Hi Norm, Not just yet! Open to any ideas. Will see you this weekend at the State Park doings. I suppose we can discuss it them! Mark O'Donnell
  20. Hi ISAer's, Looking to hook up with a ISA Citizen Scientist to do a survey before June is over! Are you? Mark O'Donnell
  21. Have Grill will bring! Mark O'Donnell Wife works at daughters school, will bring enough mustard and kethup packets for all.
  22. Ted, Scroll up a little and look at Jim Kast's reply. It has a link to the where and when. Class starts at 9:00am at Kankakee State Park I would assume it would be held just inside the Rock Creek access area, in the Ranger Station. Mark O'Donnell
  23. You, got a deal Norm! A guided trip with one on the river's patron saints! Mark O'Donnell
