  1. I have been there several times. I have seen some nice size smallies, however I have done butkiss with spinning gear. When I broke out the fly rod and threw hopper patterns at them I did real well. Nice place to go and cabins are really nice.
  2. Another vote for the cabelas waders. I have used neopreane for years and my first pair of breathable waders came from LL bean (they were flimsy and leaked). I have been using the dry plus for a couple of months now and am very happy with them. Also I find that cabelas has a fantastic return policy. Just my 2 cents.
  3. I have never used a buzzbait on a river until I saw some of the online postings here. A couple of weeks ago I tried one by the Geneva area.......holy cow did I have a blast! Others were using fly gear and some were drifting live bait. I was the only one who was picking them up. I did switch it up with a rapala but I caught about six on the buzzer (lost a bunch also). Cant wait to tie one on again.
  4. Cant wait to see the final product. Very cool looking video, I myself like the gritty look.
  5. Thanks Eric, I knew they were but did not know specifics. Ryan I ran into the same problem on the same day as the geese incident, the fishing line is all over the place.
  6. I had a great time also! All of the people were very friendly and easy to get along with. I also learned a few things like dont be lazy(go back to the car to get your work gloves and sunscreen),also new waders do not always mean they will not leak. Blisters will go away as well as sunburn and a wet crotch, but the memories of a good time will be with you forever. Thanks to all and hope you feel better soon Tim U.
  7. Just as a follow up, I spoke with Geneva park dist who had me speak with animal care and controll who then had me call Geneva police. Geneva parks deal with the property but annimal control needed to deal with the geese, they were no help at all! When I spoke with Geneva police dept. they were going to send out an officer but didnt think they would be able to catch the animal(they have tried in the past with others). I was at a loss when speaking with animal control as they were the least concerned and least helpful. Geneva police told me that if I ever run into something like this to call 911. Eric, I cant believe that people shooting airguns at wildlife did not result in someone going to jail. I have had people come through our lock-up (cook co.) that have been charged. One person even shot at people at a mosk with an air rifle. I know that laws are different everywhere but the geese are protected by the feds.
  8. Thank you Scott. They are closed at this time, but I will call in the morning. Also found the number for the Geneva park district and will call them also.
  9. I know this is my first post but I was not sure where to ask. I was fishing the Geneva portion of the Fox today and saw one goose with a broken foot, and another with both legs wraped with fishing line. I was wondering if anyone here would know who to contact to let them know. I know the geese can be pests (I have been bitten and chased many times), but I hate to see anything suffer. Second fish of the morning got tangled in 40 feet of line that was hanging in a tree and was lost. Hope someone has a number, or who to contact. Let me know and I will follow up....Thanks
  10. Dan I can remember when I would take a couple of days off just to go to the Rosemont show, and then go with friends and family on the weekend. I agree that it would be a great idea to bring them all together for the wrestlemania off all shows. I for one have always enjoyed your display! I hope we are not self destructing or a dying breed, I do think that the powers that be in Rosemont will not play nice with others. This is what I have heard and not at all being negitive with them as I like the village.
  11. I for one was happy with the Schaumburg show. I had seen the website for you guys and was happy to join. I had not been to the rosemont show for 10 years because it had been so bad. I was told by several others at the Schaumburg show that i was better off here, and that was confirmed by several others that i work with. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in.
