  1. Even though it was a lightly attended show, being the first year and all, it was well worth the effort from all of the volunteers that helped educate the people that stopped by our booth about the ISA. Thank you to John, Gregg, Josh, Steve, Ron, Nick, Don and all of the behind the scene volunteers for helping with this show. I apologize for my tardiness in posting. I have been looking for a cord for my camera which I need in order to post some pictures that I took at the show, but since my recent move it’s not missing until I need it….if that makes sense. Thanks again!
  2. It would be great to get a few more volunteers for Sunday. I guess I am just thinking about spending all afternoon with Don and not actually fishing, could be a challenge…a buffer would be nice.
  3. For those of you that have checked out the Deerfield Show web site for directions, the star that indicates the school location is in the wrong spot. The school is on the east side of Waukegan road midway between Deerfield Rd. and Half Day Rd. (Rt. 22).
  4. Thanks Ron, we can use the help. The show is located at the Deerfield High School which is located on Waukegan Road between Deerfield Rd. and Half Day Rd. (Rt. 22). If you click on the link above in the original post you can get more information or just give me a call. Thanks, Tim 847-609-3699
  5. The ISA will have a booth at the Deerfield Outdoor Show for the first time and we are looking for volunteers. We are hoping to get a few ISA members to spending a few hours out of their weekend and help man the booth. The show is the last weekend in February, 2/28 and 3/1. If you are hesitant to volunteer because you have not done it before, this would be a great opportunity to get your feet wet. We just need a few hours of your time since it is just a two day show. Please give me a call and I can fill you in on the details. http://www.deerfieldoutdoorshow.com/ Sat 2/28 9 AM - 1 PM Steve K, Nick K, Josh B, John L 1 PM - 5 PM Steve K, Tim N, Ron G Sun 3/1 9 AM - 1 PM Gregg S, Tim N 1 PM - 5 PM Tim N, Don R Tim Negronida 847-609-3699 Thanks!
  6. We are planning on put it on the market come April, hind sight it would have been easier for you to have taken care of it for us....I guess I blew it again.
  7. Steve, I mistakenly thought you had worked the shows before, so I was wrong to not include you in the new show volunteer group. I am glad that you enjoyed the experience. Thank you everyone for the recognition, but these shows are really a team effort. This was the first show that I was involved in at this level and all I did was allow myself to be shoved in the right direction. The behind the scene members are the ones that help make these shows successful and rarely receive the accolades. Members like Dick G, Jim J, Jim Kast, Scott F, Mike C, Don R, Rich M and others that I’ll get in trouble for leaving out helped the ISA be a success at this show and others.
  8. We wrapped up the Chicagoland Show today and I just want to take a moment to thank all of the members that took the time to volunteer, so thank you Jim Mullany, Craig Holderness, Dick Gronlund, Ed loch, Ed Buric, Stan Zarnowiecki, Steve Kollmann, Pat Hirschtick, Dan & Judy Quenzel and of course some of our officers Rich McElligott, Gregg Stockey, Mike Clifford and Don Rego. Now there are some members reading this and saying “hey what about us”, you guys are the volunteers that had not worked a show previously and decided to give it a try, and from the sounds of it, came away glad that you had, so Chip Potter and Gordon Patriarca an extra big thank you is thrown your way! The feeling is that the show went well. We signed up a bunch of new members and got our literature and message to a lot of folks that may join our organization down the road. For those of you that may be checking out the website because you recently joined or were encouraged to do so at the show by one of or ISA members, welcome! Take a moment to look around and don’t hesitate to introduce yourself. Once again, thanks!
  9. No system is perfect. Thanks again Chip!
  10. Thanks Gregg, working Friday would help. We still need some help, especially Thursday! If you can help out give me a call. 847-609-3699
  11. We are still in need of help for parts of every day of the show, if you can volunteer for a few hours it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim.
  12. We still could use a few more people to lend a hand. You get into see the show for free and have your parking fee picked up by the ISA, what a deal!

  14. I just returned from a trip that I had a chance to use my 770SW under water and could not be happier with the results. The one problem I had, and it was my mistake, I didn’t put a full charge on the battery. When you’re in the water it’s hard to tell if you’re getting the shot, so you’re inclined to shot a lot and weed out the bad ones later. I ran out of battery life in the process, so charge it up before you head out.
  15. Jim J. was the only one in the wardrobe you described, sorry I didn’t get him in the shots, but don’t lump the rest of us in with his crowd. Thanks again for a great presentation, I see a new pair of Simms in my future.
  16. Congratulations, I guess you will just have to keep trying for that 20”er!
  17. Very cool Mike, how long does it take you to put something like that together I can see it now, Wastewater Treatment Plants of Illinois, but to what music? Barbra Streisand, no, AC/DC, no, Louise Armstrong, no, I’m going to have to give this some thought.
  18. I think it will have to be in the form of a reference booklet.
  19. John did not mean to confuse you sooooooooo much. In MY opinion the tube is oversize for my rod handle, simple as that, and I thought I would pass along the tip. The buckle on the waist belt is stitched in place on the Velcro strap, so unless am I wrong that when you put it on around your waste it is on your right side and then you must spin it around to where you want it to sit on your hip. I also believe that the leg strap is also permanently set up for the right leg because how the clip is stitched to the holder, as in this photo.
  20. Bought a 3rd Grip for the Wisconsin River trip I made with Don and Steve a few weeks ago. I received it only a few days before we left, thanks again for the rush order John. I didn’t have a chance to try it out in the water before we left to head north like I would have wanted, but I did have time though to walk around the yard for a quick trial leaving the neighbors with even more questions about me. One thing I noticed was that the tube holding my rod handle seemed to be over sized in order to accommodate a larger size rod handle, it left a lot of room for medium lite rod to flop around in the holder. Time to modify, I took a piece of 1¼” PVC pipe which is just barely to large to fit into the 3rd Grips tube but it was the correct interior size for my rods that I fish with most. In order to get the PVC into the Grip tube I cut out a piece length wise out of the PVC pipe. I was able to then squeeze the PVC into the existing holder, it fit snug and also created a notch for my spinning real arm to seat it’s self into for a more secure fit. I also cannibalized an old pair of waders and used the shoulder strapping and clips to rework the straps on the 3rd Grip to set it up for a rear left hip position. I‘ll bet you from now on that you will not be seeing me in the water with out that 3rd Grip, and if you do don’t bring it up because I’ll be ticked off enough as it is because I left it behind...3 THUMBS UP! Now as a bonus tip , I also cut the stockings off of those same old waders in order to use them when I wet wade with my wading boots so that I don’t have to wear three pairs of socks.
  21. I’ll be there, let me know if anything else is needed.
