  1. Good Show John, well done. Nice cross section of tiers and vendors. All the attendees I spoke too seemed to be having a good time. Some good prices on tying material and reels. Looking forward to next year. Thanks again for a great show.

  3. I was at Warner Bridge today, the water was high and dirty. The vegetation on the Islands upstream of the bridge was just poking out of the water. Downstream was no better. You cant wade out to them it would be too dangerous. I drove down to the boat ramp those Islands are completely under water. If you look on the USGS site you will see Wilmington is up but the river is falling at Momence. I will try and get to Momence to do a visual in the next couple of days.
  4. The only fee is the entrance to the Park, you dont need to register. Just come, try out the rods, watch the seminars and get a one on one casting lesson for free. Single , Switch or Spey, your choice.
  5. Good company, one good fish, good casting, all in all, a good day. The Gartside Gurgler came through yet again. Looking forward to the next outing.
  6. Hello, I was wondering if a decision was ever made on whether the outing will be on the KKK or the Vermilion? I fished the State Park area of the KKK a couple of days ago and did quite well. Surface Fly only, no subsurface.
  7. I use a Switch Rod and normally a Gartside Gurgler and fish through a section, then I like to go back over it using a Spinning Rod and surface lures and see if there are any fish I missed, so although I voted Fly Rod I don't mind using a Spinning Rod.
  8. Hello, I live in Crete IL and fish the KKK for Smallmouth during the summer, I also fish for Steelhead in the Fall and Winter, my technique of choice is the Switch Rod and Gartside Gurglers for Smallies and a Spey Rod and Tube Flies for Steelhead, I hope to be a useful and active member of your group.
