  1. That brings up a lot of great memories, thank you for shareing.
  2. That stuff would probably be great on canoe and kayak hulls, make them slide through the water easier. If you spray a pair of jeans and socks you could use them for waders?
  3. After a lot of trial and error, I found out it's much more efficient to let the fish stretch the line...and more fun. :-)
  4. Or quack. A red hat wouldn't hurt either. Oops, make that an orange hat. lol
  5. By the looks of the rod the windings on the guides did not flex with the rest of the blank and created hinge points.
  6. Those 50 whites will do it every time.;-) Great catch, sorry about the rod. Bill
  7. If you kept your Clousers in a canvas fly wallet, would that be a "Clouser Trouser"?
  8. I also have one hanging in my garage also, they are a great way to get on the water. The only drawback is where you can use them. The rules and regs for the Cook County Forest Preserve district specificaly prohibits them--Illegal Floatation Devices: It is illegal to use or bring into or upon any of the waters under the exclusive control of the Board of Commissioners; any watercraft or floatation devices other than those listed under the General Regulations above. Prohibited floatation devices include but are not limited to inner-tubes, fly-fishing float-tubes or pontoons, sail-surf boards, towables or inflatable pool toys, lounges or rafts. I guess they think if its an inflatable its a pool toy. The Hollows in Crystal Lake allows them as well as Lilly Lake by Lakemoor. Also Shabbona allows them, so far. Bill.
  9. I'm shure you could get it at Osco or CVS but, you will need a prescription. I saw these advertised a few years ago but then they stopped running the commercials---I thought it really didn't work. I'd like to try it on a chunk of Northern to see if it would take out the Y bones as well as the back and ribs. Bill.
  10. Does anyone know if the inflatable pontoons are allowed on Shabbona?
  11. Exellent point, if the property is sold again, and again, a new "agreement" would have to be made, and the river could be closed once more untill the details are worked out. With legislation its done once and all the issues from all partys are brought up for consideration and settled.
  12. I think that the legislation AND the agreement would be better than just the 'long term agreement'. IMHO.
  13. I was reading some article last week about this--one of the Western States wants you to have a bucket and some bleach to make a solution strong enough to kill any organism that might be in the felt soles of your waders.Just dunk each boot in the bucket for a few mins.between streams.
  14. Congrats Rich--Grandkids make great fishing partners!
