Ryan Kral Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Hey guys, I was considering paddling the Fox tomorrow with the Kayak to do a little Fly Fishing. I have never paddled the Fox before, and will probably be alone. Since I will only have one vehicle, is it possible to paddle sections both up and down stream? Preferably in the St. Charles to Batavia area, unless somebody thinks it would really be worth my while to try a different stretch, I am aware of the dams. Let me know if you have some advise, thanks. Ryan Quote
John Loebach Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Very nice scenery & some good fishing above North Aurora dam. Park behind police station there is a launch there above the dam. Paddle upstream past Mill creek to the islands at Les Arendts. Current picks up alot from there - go until you are tired the float back is easy.Best depth on west side as you go up, be careful as the river is up alot. Quote
Ryan Kral Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 Thanks, John. I have been keeping an eye the flow of the Fox, so I may not be heading out there tomorrow. Just looking to try something new with the new kayak. Might be wise to stick to the F.P. lakes in the area until flows come down again. I will definitely give that stretch a shot soon. Thanks again. dansgonefishing Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 There is a very nice launch at Fabayan Parkway on the West side of the river. This is a wider section and you can paddle upstream towards Geneva then drift back down. Dan Quote
