Guest rich mc
steve , this is a section of the kishwaukee river in Dekalb. too small for a boat.i will have knee high boots , hip, waders or higher are better. most fishing will be on shore or very shallow water. rich

Steve S.
Have you used the 3-way swivel? Interesting but seems like it could be a pain to adjust depth by re-tying with cold fingers.
Steve S.
No, just a small weighted round foam float attached to the line. I have the same one (it's the one Jonn sent me a couple years back when I bought some of his flies).

Bterrill
With water temps warming so fast, you guys may miss FnF season if you don't give it a shot soon. It stops being the best presentation. 3 trips in a row without a fish on the technique. Lucky, you are so far north! Bring a backup plan if it is warm Sunday- your favorite bottom bouncer with enough weight to stay on bottom in slower areas should help if the fly jig isn't bit in sure fire areas. Bterrill
You guys are 80-100 miles north. That's why I said may . It'll be a blast. I'd come. Don't be afraid to get that jig on or near the bottom. Set the hook lightly. Think like a cold blooded creature.
