Mike Clifford
We'd like to thank each and every member that gave of their time and went the extra mile to promote the causes the ISA strives to further each and every year. 2009 offered unlimited opportunities and allowed us to cross barriers and reach plateaus we hadn't previously attempted to achieve. This is a testament to the conservation work ethic of our members, and the leaders that devote a great deal of their time to make the opportunities possible. My only regret in putting this together is that I couldn't represent every single volunteer that helped make a difference in the future of Illinois river and stream conservation within the video. Please know that every single effort by every individual is important to the overall goal, and this is merely a snapshot of all that was accomplished. The smallmouth you catch in 2010 and beyond are a direct result of your efforts. When the opportunity presents itself to participate in 2010, I hope you make the decision to give a few hours, a day or a weekend. The future will be brighter with you in the picture. We'll see you at the outdoor shows, and of course the Bronzeback Blowout in the near future. Here's wishing all of you a Safe and Happy Holiday Season. Cheers. A sampling of what your club accomplished this year: 2009 ACCOMPLISHMENTS ISA Grant Funding: Repair of Fish Bypass Channel at Harrington's Dam on Big Rock Creek Castle Rock Fishing Area and Boat Ramp Bank Stabilization Mackinaw River Erosion Control Projects Contributed to "H.O.M.E.S." legal fund to oppose construction of MegaDairy near Apple River Completed IL RiverWatch training Participated in Conservation Congress Fox River Water Willow Plantings Assisted with various IDNR river surveys Hosted Stream Sampling for macro-invertebrates, Kankakee River Exhibited at numerous outdoor shows Assisted in Illinois DNR stream shockings Hosted various river cleanups throughout the state Helped fund 40 tons of rock for erosion control, Shabbona Lake Instrumental in helping to create "dangers of lead" state-wide educational program, revising a restrictive bill banning the use of lead Participated in Sgt.
