ronk Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Bassbugged the Dupe for a few hours in the afternoon on 9/23.Got a few dinks & a 16.5".Nothing special but what made the day noteworthy was that the fish were active under sunny conditions for a change. Bassbugged the Dupe again 9/25 in the afternoon under a light rain No luck in the 2 spots I tried either because i picked bad spots or the bug was lost amidst the raindrops on the surface. On 9/26 I exchanged the 4wt for my 6wt and hit the Fox from 1230-430pm.Fished 3 spots.Only hit 4 smb but 2 were nice at 17.5 & 18".I cught 3 on a smaller bassbug which I've been trying in order to lessen the # of lost fish. While the smaller bug solved that problem by allowing the bass to get the bug further in their mouth instead of just being lip hooked it caused me to damage thoir gills removing it from 2 of the fish.So I went back to a bigger bug with which I got the 4th.The next time I go to a smaller bug I'll pinch down the barb to make it easier to remove the bug from inside the fish' mouth & hope that doesn't cause more lost fish. With the cold front fishing will be tough the next few days.Anyone who had the opportunity to enjoy the good fishing last week under ideal conditions,i.e.good water levels, stable weather with light winds & plenty of clouds, and instead chose to clean out their garage, powerwash their decks etc shame on you. Norm M Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Ron Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? I've had excellent days in the kinds of upcoming conditions. Fishing topwaters when the wind is blowing so hard it's sending whitecaps upstream is something I look forward to. Nice fish and adjustments btw. Quote
