New fly rod has arrived

My new Sage Smallmouth arrived yesterday. Complete with the new Redington Rise reel in burnt orange. While you all know about what the rod looks like, maybe some of you have not seen the new Rise reel from Redington:"

 

 

 

I just love the color of that new reel. I know the smallies could care less, but if they could care, I think they would appreciate the color.

New stuff rules. I haven't thrown any line with those rods but have heard good thing. Are they selling replacement line now? I had initally heard that they're really set up for the specific line for the rod.

The line comes with the rod. You cannot buy the rod without getting the line. Now, you can buy the line seperately to possibly put on another rod. I may do that in the future as I like the whole idea of how they made the line severely weight forward.

Jonn, it might be a smallmouth rod, but I don't think the striper would notice!!

I think you are right. It would probably be a serviceable striper rod. Got it all rigged and ready for this weekend. The first fish I catch with it has to be a smallie.
