Mike Clifford
Another of the contributions by a special interest group has been the establishment of a closed season for stream smallmouth bass from April 1 to June 15, when the fish are apt to be spawning. Who was responsible for the enlightened management strategy? The Illinois Smallmouth Alliance. A relatively new organization, the ISA's burgeoning membership has swelled to more than 500, and most of them adhere to a "conservation counts" philosophy. ISA-ers know that if we do not protect and restore our natural resources, any other management initiative is futile. http://www.southtownstar.com/sports/maciul...aciulis.article
